Blake Campbell has been an up and coming name ever since he entered the VHLM back in December. Since then, he has come along way. I guess you could say "started from the bottom now we're here". He's had the determination, focus and effort of a true athlete and has continuously proved to us that he could potentially become a very important, elite player and person for the VHL. From raising the Founders Cup, to winning a Silver Medal as GM to many other notable achievements early on in his VHL experience, let's take a look back and review his young career.

Minot Gladiator Days - 1st Season

Blake Campbell entered the league and within his first couple days, nailed our every TPE achievement he could possibly do. This includes his Media Spot, Bio, Rookie Scouting Report and others. He seemed to be a big fish in an extremely small pond. However, due to the amount of goalies already in the league - he wasn't needed in many places. He sat in waivers for quite sometime before Minot finally picked him up. There he played very few games, missed the playoffs and got a few slivers in his ass from the bench. Needless to say, he was thankful for the opportunity Minot gave him.

During his next season, Blake Campbell was left out of the draft. Hilarious, right? First the guy has to wait a week plus to be claimed off waivers, now he's being left out of the draft. How has he stayed active lots must wonder. However, this gave him the opportunity to become a free agent. He was given a time limit and during that time he scoped out the clubs. Final decision? Tfong and the Brampton Blades. Throughout the season, Campbell showed true promise and managed to sport a record of 62-8-2. The Blades continued their rampage into the playoffs where they eventually won the Founders Cup.

Stockholm Vikings

Blake Campbell was selected 8th overall by the Stockholm Vikings in S42's draft. During his first season of play, Campbell played behind elite goalie and soon to be retiree, Brick Wahl. Campbell says he learned a lot that season and it clearly showed that through his record. Through 23 games that season, Campbell went 19-1-1 posting a .930 SV% and a the lowest GAA in the league at 1.40. On top of that, he got 8 shutouts.

The following season, the reigns were handed over to Campbell. With a record of 44-15-5, a SV% of .917 and a GAA of 1.93, Campbell once again had proven he can get the job down. Although his numbers were slightly off from the season prior, this was his first season as a true starting goaltender in the VHL. The team went on to Game 7 of the Semi Finals but lot out in a heartbreaking game. After the game, Campbell was seen crying in Boubabi's arms.

Team USA GM & That Beautiful Silver Medal

Along with his playing career, Campbell also sidelines as a GM. His first opportunity came forward at the World's this season. Being asked personally by the commissioners to submit an application, Blake Campbell was selected to lead Team USA towards a gold medal. They started off bumpy but eventually found their strong stride, however, they sadly came up short. Team USA claimed a Silver Medal at the S43 Worlds.

BRATISLAVA WATCHMEN

Blake Campbell had an extremely brief stint with the Oslo Storm as an assistant GM, prior to being hired on as the Bratislava Watchmen's GM. Campbell entered into an organization that had a beaten up roster and numerous holes to fill. With 2 actives on the roster, Campbell knew he either had to go all in and forfeit the hand and hope for better luck next time. Him being the type of guy to not roll over and die, went all in with the permission of two of his biggest stars. Numerous trades, waiver signings and a massive Free Agent signing in Coca Cola, he truly built the team into an European Conference contender and the only team to possibly topple the Oslo Storm. They made it to Game 7 of the 2nd round. Further than anyone I'm sure expected and so close to the finals. They lost, but what a hell of a ride. They started with so little and came so far. I'm sure people expected them to make the 2nd round regardless, but to build a roster from nothing and go 7 games deep against an obvious winner - that shows some true colours. Colors bright enough to get him recognized as one of the three nominees for executive of the season.

Conclusion

Campbell remains the starting goalie for the Stockholm Vikings and the Head GM of the Bratislava Watchmen. He continues to train hard and work hard in his office. Recently, Campbell had named an assistant GM to the Watchmen in Ahma's. Stay tuned - likely will put on another show for the fans of the Watchmen.
