The European first round is set and HC Davos Dynamo will travel to Cologne to visit the Express in the opening round. The Dynamo are competing with new addition Sergey Brovalenko who is a former Express player (as well as many other teams). The Express made no trade deadline acquisitions and decided to keep the bulk of their roster intact and sign them long-term. On paper the Express have the upper hand in most categories and will have to compete with a very lethal Express forward group. The X-Factor in this series will be second line winer Marcus Figgarowta-Nahimal who is coming off a very productive season with Davey Jones. Jones the soon-to-be rookie of the year has built a solid chemistry with "MFN" and have provided stability on the second unit. Also surprising many has been Cody Inko who will look to build off his regular season success that saw him eclipse the point-per-game mark which was unexpected from him. The Express are hoping the leadership and experience by Malcolm Spud will help them in the playoffs in what is his first series for the Cologne franchise.
