:vhl:VHL All-Star Lines:vhl:

Over the course of the season fans and experts alike, always bring up the performances of individual players. Each season we see players step out from behind the shadows and over preform the expectations set forth before the season, sometimes on their own doing, but likely because of the line-mates that fight the good fight with them. In today’s article and with the all-star game in mind where we see the best of the best line-up together, we’ll look into team lines and try to find some of the best lines in the VHL at the current time.

:tor:Toronto: (348 combined points, 573 combined hits) :tor:

Parechkin-Mølholt-St. Pierre

B. Free-M. Hyvarinen

When you talk best lines in the VHL, you cannot have a list without a line that has a combined thirteen Continental Cups between the five players on the line. While all the Continental Cups, including the record setting three straight, are impressive one thing that jumps out to me is the fact all but Hyvarinen have spent their entire VHL careers in Toronto. Also impressive was the fact that Mølholt and the Legion were able to bring in Parechkin, St. Pierre and World B. Free in the Season Forty-Six draft. Building through the draft is what General Manager Max Mølholt made his platform when he was named to lead the franchise back in Season Forty-Four. This season the first line of the Legion have been on the same torrid pace, putting up a combined 348 points and 573 combined hits. The Legion have been led by Parechkin and Mølholt for most of the season, but will need some secondary scoring down the stretch drive and into the playoffs.

Possible Season Fifty-One All-Stars: Zach Parechkin, Max Mølholt, World B. Free

Koponen-Gowecny-Kohler

Velvet-Klingberg

Heading into Season Fifty-One, the free agent group brought into Calgary were expected to be a top line in the VHL. So far with three of the four new arrivals on the first line, Calgary has been scoring at an alarming rate. Koponen leads the way for the Wranglers with forty goals and sixty-two assists, which is second in the league to only Parechkin. Kohler and Velvet also find themselves in the top ten of scoring with ninety-seven and ninety-six points respectively. The impact that the new arrivals brought was felt immediately and has continued throughout the season with the first line amassing a combined 366 points and a combined 432 hits.  With first place within arm’s reach for the Wranglers, which will result in a first round bye in the playoffs, the line will need to keep up its focus and drive as they may not play a meaningful game for a couple of weeks.

Possible Season Fifty-One All Stars: Aleksi Koponen, Tyson Kohler and Black Velvet

Lincoln-Mengsk-Skovgarrd

Hamilton-Hamilton

The Express first line is the last pairing that will find themselves on our list this week, but they shouldn’t be ranked as such. The Express first line has been on fire for the team this season, especially in the past week or so, allowing the team to close the gap on first place Riga. Phil Hamilton leads the way for the line and the Express in general with nineteen goals and eighty-one assists, which puts him at the top of the team for scoring. Not far behind the English defender are line mates Tom Lincoln and Neils Skovgarrd, who have ninety and eighty-nine points respectively. With a tough task in front of them to make it back to the Continental Cup finals, the Express will need this line to continue to produce at an All-Star level.

Possible Season Fifty-One All Stars: Tom Lincoln, Neils Skovgarrd, Phil Hamilton

Review:

The review comes late, but this was definitely a nice article. Sad it got no replies.

Man, being on the Legion with Molholt has been a dream.
