Americans finish regular season with most goals

The New York Americans finished out the regular season in dominant fashion, winning their final six games (five against playoff teams) by a total margin of 30 to 7. It was a very fun end of the season for the team, as something seemed to reinvigorate the club after having recently gone through a stretch of five losses in seven games (including one against the Wranglers). Ultimately, this outburst of goals in these final games led to the Americans being the league-leaders in goals scored for the regular season, just barely beating out the Bears, with the final tally being 280 to 279.

Leading New York was Diana Maxwell, whose 64 goals placed her third in the league. Also scoring above 50 were Unassisted and Tom Lincoln, two of the active leaders in career goals and points. The next highest on the team was Phil Shankly all the way down at 32. Essian Ravenwing had 30, and William Covington had 26 before being traded with 16 games left in the season; Covington's replacement, Joel Jarvi, had six goals with the team. New York is the only team that had five players score 30 or more goals, and Covington was on pace to reach that mark as well.

Also Bobby Digital scored a goal and if he hadn't, it may have been a tie.
