I mean, Smirnov is doing well but I attribute that to a lucky start. Malenko is bein a consistent boi, Leph Twinger is doing well. The lad Vesto is doing well too - I think they all will be promising players. 2. This is gon be a deep one, I expected it to suck and Tfong's player to be the only good player - but considering how the turnout has become, it should be a good one. 3. Recruitment. People actually staying devoted. It's going to get better for a little longer and stagnate, but it'll stay good for now. 4. You already know my opinion on this, you already know what it is. I think any rookie should play. Our team sucks, let's go to the juniors. 5. We ain't holdin for shit - we just had a good start. We're competing because we played the Titans like 6 times already and won a good 4 of those times. We'll lose against the good teams lol. 6. They got some time to decrease in power, but as it stands - they'll stay dominant. They're a good team in their last year or two, so they will lose when the sim decides for them to lose. No other reason. Lmao, it shouldn't be this way, but it is. 3. Goalies suck right now. There's little to no good goalies left in the league atm, so that's the big deal here. 4. Wranglers got this, they'll win the cup with ease. Beaviss and the Meute are doing ok too but they won't win shit in the playoffs. 5. None really. It all seems balanced and seems like it should be. All of the teams are exactly where they should be. 6. A lot of them have really. There's no exact person that I would say has surprised me, but the Halifax team has definitely surprised me in performance. Lucky expansion buggers. Leph and I have been too focused on absolutely dominating the World Juniors. Be ready to run up the list right after it's done. 3) Who is the most under appreciated defenseman in the VHL? Dragon McDragon. Simply because that's the coolest name that anyone could possibly have. 4) What about the NHL? I'm a Jets fan and I can guarantee there are guys more deserving but I'll call out the playstyle of Josh Morrissey. That strong defensive play just never gets recognized on any team. 5) Who would your most improved VHL player be thus far? I don't think rookies count so I guess I'd have to count myself out of this one. He's on those new fangled bath salts. Guy's a beauty but the sim is just fucked this season lmao. His inspiration is ruining the sim engine. 2. Leph Twinger is a bust, no doubt about it. Plus Seattle is just having a lucky sim. It's LIFE 3. Ironside I would say is pretty under appreciated at the moment. He does a shit ton of goodies for the team, has a decent +/-, and is probably the best d-man on the team. 4. Personally I would lean towards Hjalmarsson, but I think he's pretty fairly rated. He's definitely my pick though. Him and Del Zotto in my opinion. 5. Lmao, guess you gotta go with Cast considering how ridiculous the point total difference is. 6. I mean, he can. Sim is fucked, it's all wackity and shit. I think it'll balance out in a couple more seasons. 3. I think it was a good positional move. They lost Neal, so they needed a winger to balance it out. He'll do well on the 2nd line. 4. Patches in Vegas easily. He's got too many good players around him that are on the way to being phenomenal players in their own second chance. 5. Kovalchuk probably. But I still think you should give a bow over to the mans Colton Rayne and Casey Jones. 6. Stopko personally. Calgary just has a good team, and they'll be looking for that cup they lost last season. He should have gone higher if you ask me. He's going to be a star alongside my own defenseman now. Other than him, I think guys like @troy Lew Bronstein or @Barracuda Greg Santos could be late steals in the draft. 3. I think Riga won for sure. They barely finished contending, and now they have a jumpstart in their rebuild with a franchise center (Cast), defenseman (Stromberg), and goaltender (Aamo). Not to mention Preencaracion. That's 2/3 of a top line, a #1 D and a #1 out of 1 draft, and I think they're basically all guarantees. It's a shame about that Stromberg error that led him to fall that low. Would have been taken higher otherwise. The only 2 questions are if Daniel (Aamo) and Tagger (Preencarnacion) stay active. That will be the big thing regarding Riga's future. 4. Davos or New York. New York only had a late pick in Victor Ball, who might end up being nothing. Davos at least got Jacob Smith who is active now. 5. Stromberg is the biggest steal. Alvaro Jokinen I would say might be the biggest bust, but Quebec just traded him for a 2nd. I guess at the very least they got a free 2nd rounder out of him, but there were names that Quebec could have taken instead rather than waste a pick on a guy you know you have to trade to Davos. Other than that, it could be Tagger's player? I love the guy, but last time he had a player, I drafted him and he was gone right away. Aackckqz Ky, the defenseman. Although that player was more of an experiment from him anyways, and maybe the motivations weren't there to keep him active. I'm just answering this out of kindness. I can't claim this shit. Do you see Sidney Crosby winning awards in the VHL this season? Which one(s) and why? A quick glance at the goalie rankings sees some CPU G's having better stats than regular goalies. Why do you think that is? DO you think with a goalie like Kriketers and his under 91% saves will be enough to go far in the post-season for Riga? Does Nikita Flipachyev's VHLM pace surprise you? Devise 4,475 Posted November 19, 2018 Share Posted November 19, 2018 1. No. Podrick Cast who had a slow start has become a house of fire of late. Riga happened to have a harder start to the season as well, with several games against notable competition. I think they are poised to light it up down the stretch and steal the top spot in the league, with Cast leading the charge in goals and points. 2. Thankfully Twinger has somewhat bounced back, with 47 points in 53 games played. While certainly not the pace that was expected given the stellar rookie season, Riga is a stacked roster and minutes are tough. Next season will be huge for Twinger I predict. Bouncing back to compete for even a point per game after that start is notable. 3. Probably was asked when Sid/Helsinki had a hot start/good stretch. I don't think so at this point, although Crosby has had a strong season for a rookie defender and is all over the stat sheet. But it'll be tough to ignore Vaydar Odinsson for rookie of the year if he keeps the pace he's at. Crosby likely to be out balloted by fellow Helsinki rookie standouts. 4. Several things factor into this. Quality of goalies, people often forget the CPU's aren't at 0 TPA, they have roughly 200 TPE put in seasons and seasons ago in an effort to discourage teams outright tanking. Looking at it now a few of those goalies are still better, but they also play less games usually against the weaker teams. And when so many young goalies are still under 400 TPE, it's easy for a goalie to steal a game or two, especially backstopping contending teams. 5. Thankfully Krigs has improved to a .915 in that time, but he's still been one of the only sore spots on a very strong Riga team. At the end of the day though, as mentioned above it's a tough goalie market right now and sure as a hell a far cry from peak days. That cycle seems to be changing and Krigs is on the upswing of that, but he's still so young that he's likely just the odd duck in a game of goose this season. 6. Ahh how nice, you made a prediction and now I'm belated answering this question well after the prediction has occurred. Let's see here, yeah you probably got it. He's sitting well over his point production from last season and looks on pace to hit close to 100 or mid to high 90's. While he may not double up his production entirely from last season, it's certainly an improvement. It doesn't really surprise me, Halifax is a competitive team and with a bunch of notable high TPE players moving to the VHL more room for a player like Nikita to shine.
