Descritption

Mikhail grew up in a very luxurious part of Stcokholm and his parents were quite well off. He went to some of the highest class schools in all of the world and in doing so, learned of some of the greatest sports programs to follow suit. Because of this privilege, Mikhail has learned a multitude of skills to base his game around and despite being very young, he's knowledgeable of the game both on and off the ice. This leads us to believe that his game is only going to flourish as he ages, matures and trains. Below is the scouting report provided to us on both the positives and the negatives of his game.

Pros

Passing - Mikhail has been known since joining the league as a pass-first player. A lot of the times we do not see this kind of one-sided offensive game often but this time around, it's working in his favor. While he doesn't have the supporting cast some of the other prospects do on their team, he's been leading the way on Ottawa and because of this passing skill, he's put up some brilliant points and made some very eye-catching plays. If he continues to improve on this skill as we assume he will, he'll be ready for the pros in no-time.

Face-offs - Obviously a key skill for any centerman is face-offs and Mikhail is very much ahead of the game when it comes to this skill. This season he's been one of the best and most consistent in the circle and has proven to really capitalize on big opportunities when they arise. Mikhail has demonstrated to us that again with some more practice he could execute his face-offs at a more mature and fast paced game leading to him dominating the circle at a younger age then some anticipated.

Skating - One thing Mikhail has always prided himself with is being a fast player and there is no exception for him since joining the league. He's speedy, agile and able to out-skate most of his fellow classmates in this years draft class. In doing so, he's proven that he's capable of not only out-skating players to make big plays in the opposing end, but also skating back into position at his side of the ice to forecheck and allow for more defensive play, this could easily play into his two-way game he plans to build towards.

Cons

Shooting - Some scouts may hate to see this but it is what it is. Mikhail has been very open about being a guy that's going to set-up some of the leagues best and while most focus on their shooting, just like as we spoke about, Mikhail isn't one of them. Very recently, he was asked by coaching staff and peers alike to start working on it a bit, and so he has, however this isn't going to be a primary focus for him as he plans to get most of his points through assisting others. He believes with his high skill in the passing game, that there is no reason for anyone to doubt his offensive talents just simply by not scoring.

Strength - Despite being big and bulky, one thing that Mikhail just recently began to work on is his strength. While he's speedy, agile and very swift, one thing he is lacking is the use and ability to body people off the puck and use his body effectively to keep the puck by shielding it. As we mentioned, this con should be fixed very soon however as his statistic has almost improved fifteen points since just weeks ago, meaning he could see a quick rise in the way he uses his body and conditioning to strengthen himself up.

Leadership - This is likely not a secret here, but despite being wise beyond his years, at nineteen years old, Mikhail does not have the experience to call himself a leader in the pro world or even in the VHLM for this matter. Being so young, more times than not, the older guys are usually relied on for how long they've been in the game, and despite playing since he was younger, to Mikhail, that still means inexperience. There is likely going to be no gain in this skill until his later years in the league once he begins to develop that pro knowledge, so if you want someone to come in and be your captain, he can try, but it won't be likely he'll contribute too much in that category.
