With only six games left in the 36th VHL season, things are getting intense. Two teams that likely want to miss the playoffs find themselves in position to make it in while two teams who want to make the playoffs sit on the outside looking in. The Seattle Bears sit one point behind the New York Americans for the final playoff position in the North American Conference. The Americans have a surefire lottery pick from Calgary already, but they also possess their own first pick and Vasteras' first round pick. The Eagles and the Bears both traded their first round picks and they are both on the outside looking in on the playoffs right now. The Bears are within striking distance while the Eagles sit well below the Cologne Express for the final European playoff spot. The Eagles need to make up a six point difference in the final games which means they will need to win out or receive a tonne of help from other teams. They will likely require both. New York, Seattle, Calgary, Vasteras and Cologne eagerly await the end of the season. An end that will likely go down as one of the more interesting in recent memory.
