Two words comes to mind when describing Maximoff's career; consistency and speed. Skating skills and scoring prowess made Pietro one of the most lethally consistent players in the VHL's history. An example many players are built on to this day. His career started strong, straight out of the gate in his rookie campaign scoring 29 goals and 75 points. His never say die perseverance carried him to a 69 goal campaign in S52; a season where he scored a jaw dropping 139 points and claimed the Mike Szatkowski, Kevin Brooks and Dustin Funk trophy's.

To say the least, an impressive rookie season. His 75 points in 72 games put Maximoff on the roadmap for success and became a household name around the league. Most impressive were his 496 shots on goal. Maximoff started his career hungry and even appeared in 13 playoff games where he amassed 14 points. Maximoff was awarded the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy for top rookie.

S50 (sophomore season) Maximoff's goal output was almost identical to his rookie campaign. Perhaps a victim to less ice time, his point totals took a hit but this doesn't draw the outcome a quick glance would suspect. His shot total of 387 was 109 less than his season prior; only resulting in one less goal. Maximoff was getting a better grasp of his scoring ability. A foreshadow of the seasons to come. Maximoff appeared in six playoff games scoring five points.

Maximoff got back on track in a big way in season 51. His goal output increased by 10 and his +/- by 37. The Reign were a powerhouse, ready to take on the leagues best. Pietro won his first of two Continental Cup Championships scoring 16 points in 14 playoff matches. The season brought Maximoff from promising youngster to a solidified elite force. Maximoff appeared in 14 playoff games scoring 16 points. Maximoff was awarded the Grimm Jonsson Trophy for top leader in the VHL.

There comes a time in every athletes career when everything clicks, the ducks are all in a row and no matter what you do the results keep pouring in. For Maximoff; his career campaign was season 52. Pietro soared to new heights scoring 31 more goals than his previous best. 69 goals and 70 assists. Simply incredible. A season such as this is what drew the path for Maximoff into a future hall of famer. He was awarded the Mike Szatkowski Trophy for most points, the Kevin Brooks Trophy for most goals and was an easy ballot choice for the Dustin Funk Trophy; awarded to the most improved player. Pietro appeared in 10 playoff games resulting in 13 points.

In a season which saw Maximoff traded to Seattle, Pietro took well to his new team putting up impressive numbers once again. 50 goals and 65 assists for 115 points. Season 53 saw Pietro acquire his highest shot output at 630. Maximoff appeared in seven playoff games scoring eight points.

As Maximoff moved into the veteran years of his career he was also moved for the second time in his career, this time to the Stockholm Vikings . He achieved yet another impressive season and for the third time passed the 50 goal mark with 53. His 109 points marked the third time he surpassed the 100 point mark. Season 54 was Pietro's best defensive season achieving a +/- rating of 93. Maximoff appeared in six playoff games scoring four points.

In his second (and last) campaign with the Stockholm Vikings , Maximoff again was an elite scorer potting 46 goals and 50 assists. He showed a higher level of controlled physical play compared to his previous season with 44 more hits all while acquiring nine less penalty minutes. Maximoff appeared in seven playoff games scoring seven points. Pietro had one season left under his belt and was not prepared to go quietly.

Season 56 would be Maximoff's final season in the VHL; his last hoorah. With every game and every shift Maximoff was playing in a style younger than his age would assume. He was acquired by the championship hungry Quebec City Meute and amassed 59 goals and 58 assists. This marked the third time he would pass the 50 goal and 100 point mark for his career. Pietro was a treat to watch in the Meute's playoff run collecting 17 points in 13 games en route to his second Continental Cup Championship. What a way to cap off his impressive VHL career.

Career Conclusion

Pietro Django Maximoff came from very little in his humble beginnings in Wundagore Mountain in Transia. Uneducated and moved out from his parents at a young age due to his Village being attacked. His speed and indescribable talents led Pieto to a life of theft to assist him and his sister to a better life. In order to change his life for the better, Pietro once again moved away to live an honest lifestyle. His athletic career started in track and field and led to a love for hockey when he stumbled upon the Steaua Rangers, the most popular hockey team of Romania at the time. He quickly adapted to the sport and became a top goal scorer for the very team he idolized. His talents led him to being scouted by teams in the VHML (where he would be drafted by Ottawa) and after a championship season with Bratislava where he clinched the winning goal, his talents were moved to the pro league; the VHL. Maximoff did it all from rookie of the year to scoring and leadership titles and two Championship rings; a career in which any player would dream of having.

@Jubo07 - good write-up, could you please add his season by season playoff stats as well?

Also STO is Stockholm Vikings, now a defunct team, not Oslo.
