Exciting times for Helsinki

With the S63 VHL Entry draft about 36 hours in the books, fans in the Finnish Capital can't help but contain their excitement. With a crazy leadup to the draft, including a rumoured blockboster between the Titans and Legion that evolved into a smaller trade later in the day, after a trade between Toronto and Riga was blocked by the league, Helsinki has positioned itself very well for the future, as well as the present!

 

The Titans have already shown up for camp with a much improved roster, with the new recruits being lead by 3rd Overall Pick, Julian Borwinn @Jubo07. Other new faces up front include Vaydar Odinsson @BOOM™ and inactive FA Ivan Morozov @solas. On the back end, 4th Overall Pick Sidney Crosby @SidTheKid87 takes over as the team's top defender, and Alex Pepper @Sonnet, who fell in the draft only due to a lack of goaltending positions available in the league, takes over the nets for Helsinki. These new faces join Dan Montgomery @BarzalGoat and Konstantin Mulligan @Pandar on the VHL's lone Scandinavian squad.

 

Fans also share an excitement for future stars Jesse Wilson @monkeywrench15, Chance Matthews @DaftRaincloud, Toby Fitzgerald @JohnnyT_77, Wlodzimierz Zakaczkowski @nicolas01 and joey boucher @joeyboucher1.

 

With over $16M in cap space remaining, the Titans are also making a play on the top Free Agents in this season's class. Joseph Bassolino @Smarch, Sergei Komarov @Gooningitup, Jack Shephard @Higgins and Jeff Gow @Fire Hakstol have all received offers from the team. Should those vets decide to band together in Finland, it would give the Titans the deepest forward group in the league, and a dark horse shot to do some real damage come playoff time!
