1. It's hard to say. One can always find blame in luck, but maybe sticking to the basics more would have helped.

As always I plan to head back home to Finland and row on our many lakes, and continue to work on my science fiction series "Atlas Rising".

Am I too bitter if I say win the regular season and lose to Seattle in the playoffs?  Maybe I'm still bitter.

    I might be traveling.

    Hard to pick which team will get hot in the playoffs. I would say any team the makes the playoffs has a shot.

    There are several players that worked hard. I wouldn't want to pick just one.

1. It's awful. I think if we put a lot more pucks on the net, we'd have won absolutely.

2. Getting drafted by the best team in the VHL of course. Only the best team has Gino.

3. 100 goal season for Gino, of course. There's no other option.

1. I think we are still going to be above average for S72, but we aren’t going to be as strong as previous seasons.

2. Our chemistry is good but I feel it could always be better. I don’t like watching players go but sometimes you need to move people around to find out what works and what doesn’t.

3. I would probably just try out some different lines for the sims that day, nothing spectacular.

4. I’m pleased with my past performance as a backup, and I’m hoping to continue my strong play as our teams starting goaltender.

5. I need to come up clutch in the playoffs (more so the finals) as I haven’t won any finals but have been there as a starting goalie twice (VHLM S69/ WJC S69).

6. I think we need to play smarter hockey and stay out of the box. Keep things simple and lead by example.

Same thing our fearless GM does currently...make it look like I'm doing something important and hope the players do their job...then try to deflect blame off of HHH.

 

4. How do you feel about your personal performance?

 

I think it went really well.  I have improved every year and spending most of the season on Davos, I ended up as a -1.  That's not too bad for playing on a team that wasn't trying to win the last couple of seasons.

 

5. If you could change one thing about your game what would it be?

 

Play on the top line with HHH as my scoring winger.

 

6. There are many teams that do better than us in the playoffs, why do you think that is and how do we fix it.

 

Some players just don't play in the playoffs.  We need to find a way to light a fire under their arse.

 Obviously disappointed that we didn't win the cup but you have to take heart that we had the best record during the season.

 I don't know that we did anything wrong, Funk just seems to be the wolf killer.

I have no complaints about the team.

 We've had a couple of our long term Wolves retire, so watching new blood rise up.

 I think any team with HHH and Freeman can compete at the top level.

I would add a defenseman and a forward from free agency. Vancouver already has a strong team, and those two could help round out an even stronger roster.

I think we're going to be a top team in the NA Conference. If we can get through the very tough NA Conference, we can beat whatever team comes out of the EZ PZ EU Conference.

Offensively I'm about where i thought i would be, but i feel like my defensive numbers are lagging a bit.

 

2.) Why are we the best team in the VHL?

Just look at the lineup, we have some absolute legends on this team.

Yeah, I'd love more discussion (vhl or otherwise) but am admittedly pretty shy/quite myself.

 

4.) Who would you say is Vancouver's biggest rival?

Seattle, just like in nature bears and wolves don't get along.

I guess Toronto?  I'm not sure.  Despite doing poorly against them in playoffs, our record against Seattle in regular season is good (i think).

 

6.) If you could change one thing about the VHL, what would it be?

I'm not sure, I still feel pretty new, but don't have any complaints.

It's been a struggle to get going, but considering the amount of PT I'm getting and the team's success I'm pretty happy.

We got some legendary HOF players on our roster.

I don't know what it used to be like, but it's definitely quieter than the M.

1) Gritty has performed about as expected carrying two rookie wingers on the 2nd line

1. Think we just gotta wait for the young guns to develop. As we go through the season we'll get better.

2. I'm surprised how good my player has been playing. It hasn't been outstanding, but in my situation I feel like I've been killing it.

3. Maybe have some major line switch ups to see if it helps.

4. Trade aging players for picks & prospects. 

5. Game 71 against Davos.

6. He's been playing well. Very good potential for the future D core.

Offensively I'm doing well I think, but i feel like my hits and sb are down from last season.

Thankfully these are my decisions but I feel like defensively we are are not playing the same we were last season.  I say that even though we have scored more goals than we have allowed.

 

4. If we are not in a playoff spot come deadline what would you do?

I think we would need to do something but we are in a weird spot, we have a young core still developing and some players about to retire, maybe you give up a youngin to get someone better in the now to see if that helps us push for playoffs.

 

5. Favorite game of the season thus far?

Game 16 when we beat Seattle 5-1, it just feels good when we beat them.

 

6. What are your thoughts on Griff Manzer? @Garsh

Small sample size. Just have to continue earning TPE, and the results will come.

I'm playing above my expectations. I ended up with more TPA this season than last season, so I was expecting some improvement, but I think I'm currently 3rd in points for a defenseman, which is pretty nice.

For obvious reasons, I don't know what the future plans of Vancouver are or how the roster could possibly look in a season or two, but I"m assuming the team is looking towards the next season or two more than this season. The team picked up 2 free assets in free agency, so it would be interesting if the team decides to continue to fight for an NA playoff spot or to attempt to ship off those players for additional assets. Not sure what the trade market would look like, as I feel that there are basically no trades at the deadline anymore.

1) I'm not sure why with our defense and goalie we are giving up as many goals as we are. The offense wasn't expected to be great but the defense is supposed to be carrying us. 

2) Not great, but understandably so. I am the highest tpe player on my line and have the most points on my line, but am only averaging 0.5 PPG. This is understandable as I have two rookies on my line. Hopefully as they keep earning more tpe things pick up. 

3) Another high tpe forward to add to the second line

4) Considering it's my last season, I would ask that you trade me to a playoff contender for pretty cheap considering you got me for free anyway. 

5) We just recently beat Prague which was neat. I have nothing against Prague (really cool group of guys) but the what if of if we signed there will always be interesting

Play Jungkok more. In his limited ice time he seems to be doing alot of things even when not scoring.
