Minor Announcement

This announcement doesn't really affect anyone except @DollarAndADream and  @VHL GMs. It is an official ruling on how Sebastian Ironside will finish out his career.

Last season, there was a decision made that he would be allowed to continue his career until @Devise's GM Player, JB Rift, was called up to the Toronto Legion - as per the provisions of the old GM Player rules. As such, Devise planned to leave Rift in the VHLM during the S64 season, and recall him for the S65 season, effectively making S64 Ironside's final season. This decision was made prior to the new rules regarding GM Players came into effect.

As a compromise, given the new GM Player rules in place, we have decided that Ironside will be allowed to play this final season with Toronto, but, rather than being forced to retire, he will become a Free Agent following the S64 season. In allowing this provision (given that the new rules state a former GM Player must become a Free Agent in the Off-Season prior to the New GM Player's first season), Toronto will not be allowed to recall Rift during the S64 season (should he cap out of the VHLM prior to the start of the season, he will have to sit out Season 64).

Ironside will also be barred from returning to Toronto, or any team he is traded to at any point during S64, until the S66 Off-Season; as well, he may not sign an extension with any team he is under contract with during S64.

For example:

If Toronto trades Ironside to Riga during the S64 Season, Ironside will not be allowed to sign an extension with Riga, or sign as a Free Agent with either Toronto or Riga until the S66 Off-Season.

Should, for whatever reason, Riga decide to trade Ironside to New York, he would be barred from re-signing with the Americans, or returning to any of New York, Riga or Toronto, as a Free Agent, until the S66 Off-Season.

This effectively maintains Ironside's status as a retiring asset for the S64 Season, while allowing him to continue his career moving forward.

Signed,

@Commissioner
