Would you rather Have a dog with a cat’s personality or a cat with a dog’s personality?
Only judging from the stereotypes, I guess a cat with a dog's personality. I don't think cats are assholes like everybody believes but if we go from the stereotypes that they are and that dogs are the greatest gift to mankind, of course you'd want a little fluffball to have a personality like that.

 

If you were reborn in a new life, would you rather be alive in the past or future?
Definitely the future. The past is fun to learn about but damn it sucked. Dying at like 25, leaving my 8 kids behind? Hell no.

 

Would you rather eat no candy at Halloween or no turkey at Thanksgiving?
I don't celebrate thanksgiving so no turkey on a random day doesn't bother me at all.

 

Would you rather Experience the beginning of planet earth or the end of planet earth?
The beginning, no doubt. Not sure why someone would choose the end.

 

Would you rather have three kids and no money, or no kids with three million dollars?
You mean my current life plus three million dollars? Yes please.

 

Would you rather Be the funniest person in the room or the most intelligent?
Humour is relative while intelligence is not. I would love to be more intelligent than I actually am. It wouldn't take much, though.

1. Would you rather Have a dog with a cat’s personality or a cat with a dog’s personality?

Probably a cat with a dog's personality. Cats are nice and soft but it's a dog's personality that makes it so lovable. It would still be just plain weird though.

 

3. Would you rather eat no candy at Halloween or no turkey at Thanksgiving?

Perhaps, surprisingly, I would rather eat no candy at Halloween. Gotta have turkey as it's one of the few times a year you can enjoy it (with cranberry and gravy!). Also, turkey leftovers >> candy leftovers!

 

6. Would you rather be free or be totally safe?

Be free. We don't grow if we are always safe.

 

8. Would you rather Look 10 years older from the neck up, or the neck down?

Neck up. I still think I'd look ok. 

 

11. Would you rather have three kids and no money, or no kids with three million dollars?

Well, I currently have four kids and no money and while there are days I would take option #2, I love my kids and my life right now.

 

12. Would you rather Be the funniest person in the room or the most intelligent?

The most intelligent. Then I can out think the funny person.

1. I would rather have a cat with a dog's personality. It would have a lot of energy and would be fun to be with but it wouldn't be too big and destroy stuff.

2. Future. We already know what happened in the past. I want to know what happens in the future.

3. No turkey because I don't eat turkey during thanksgiving.

11. I'd choose the money. Sure, I'd love the kids but it would be a loss for both the kids and me. Besides, I could just adopt or something with the money.

4. I mean, I'd assume they were the same person but probably someone I love.

I like #9 because of Rocket Richard. 

 

2. We have a lot of new faces in Calgary. Which new player are you most excited to play with ? For the new players which current Wrangler are you most excited to play with in season 70 ?
Pretty excited to play with Mikko Lahtinen. He's one of the best rookies in the league for sure. He will have a big impact on our team early in his career.

 

3. Where do you predict Calgary will finish in the standings, 1 thru 12 ?
I just hope we make the playoffs. I don't care how we get in, just making the playoffs would be great for us. So I see us finishing bottom playoff team. 

 

4. Do you have any personal goals for season 70 you'd like to achieve ?
I would like to get 30ish points. My rookie season was super disappointing and I feel like I can get those kinds of numbers.

 

6.  Who could potentially be our most valuable player for season 70 ?
Expecting big things from JB Rift. We are a young team so we'll need him to steal us a couple of games. 

 
8. Who could potentially be our most improved player by the end of this season?
RJ Jubis and I were poorly used last season so I hope our numbers this year will reflect our true worth.

I know my teammates regularly go after Seattle but I'm not on the forum itself enough to notice if they actually give a shit so I'm not sure if it counts as a rivalry.

I'm quite confident I'll strike early in the season but I don't trust my ability to maintain my productivity too much after that. 

 

9. Is there another sport you think you would've done well in, had you not become a pro hockey player? 
I did the judo as a young boy. I was so good they wouldn't let me compete. I had this special punch move they said was illegal. Amateurs.

Les Boys, Les Boys 3, Les Boys 4. Les Boys 2 might be good too but I don't remember seeing it.

3. As of right now the Wranglers record is 6-2-0. Did you think this young team would start the season so well ?

 

4. Which Wrangler takes the longest afternoon naps on gameday ?

 

5.  No Calgary player has had to drop the gloves yet. Which Wrangler will have Calgarys first fighting major of the season? 

 

6. How do you take your coffee in the morning or are you a tea person ? 

 

7. Are you happy with your play so far ? Is there anything you would like to improve on ? 

 

8. Calgary heads on the road for the next 2 games. You play Helsinki then Prague. Which game are you more excited for ? 

 

9. In your 10th game of the season you will face former teammate and goaltender Brick Wahl. How will that experience go ?

Not in the slightest - figured we weren't bad, and we'd do a bit more than expected, but not this well

Kefka's still not really used to American/Canadian time zones, and this manifests itself in a loooot of sleep

Definitely Krice. He's very new to this league and hasn't gotten Settled in yet. He'll quite sleeping one day.

Hopefully me. I'm often quite grumpy so if we have a morning game I might need to break out the fists. GM

I'm a neither type of guy. I like my orange Fanta in the morning. Keep me jumpy and ready to go.

 

7. Are you happy with your play so far ? Is there anything you would like to improve on ? 

 

I think I've played fantastic. I moved from forward to defence this season and I have more points per game as a Dman. So that's super nice to see.

 

8. Calgary heads on the road for the next 2 games. You play Helsinki then Prague. Which game are you more excited for ? 

 

I'm excited to go back to Helsinki where I was drafted. Hopefully going out to dinner with some of the team.

 

9. In your 10th game of the season you will face former teammate and goaltender Brick Wahl. How will that experience go ?

 

I was never a teammate of Brick. But excited to beat that Wahl up.

Yes I honoured my Asian origins. Me and the boys used our superstar status to go in front of everybody in lines.

We didn't exactly play the best teams in the league so far but I'm still pretty impressed. I did not think we could start the season with such a record.

Barabash is a grumpy old man so I'll go with him.

 

7. Are you happy with your play so far ? Is there anything you would like to improve on ?
I almost tied my career total so yes I'm happy so far. I would like to score but I won't be too demanding.

It will be different for sure. I never scored a hattrick while crying before.

PRESS CONFERENCE 

 

1. The Wranglers are 6-5-2 since our last weekly press conference. What do we need to improve on ? 

 

2. Calgary has the 6th best powerplay % but the 2nd best penalty kill in the league. Are these special team numbers a recipe for winning ? 

 

3. Rookie Kris Rice is on pace for 20 goals this season. Will he do it ? 

 

4. Its Superbowl Sunday. Are you watching the game? Who are you cheering for ? 

 

5. Better gameday foods: 

chips and dip or nachos + Salsa ? 

pizza or wings ? 

 

6.  Calgary has currently slid into 5th place in the Standings. Would you be content if you finished the season in 5th place? 

 

7. Calgary's weather can be odd with the chinooks. It can fluctuate up to 20-30 degrees Celsius one day to the next. Could be -20 one day then +5 the next.  Have you gotten used to this ?

 

8. Have you visited the West Edmonton mall yet ? 

 

9.  Who on the team uses the oldest and dirtiest looking equipment ? 

 

10. We are 21 games into the season. What part of your game are you proud of so far ?

If our power lay was the 2nd best we’d probably be the best team in the league, and yes these are a recipe, defense doesn’t win championships, and offense doesn’t, it’s a combination of the two goods.

Hell he can probably drop 30, I have faith in him.

 I’m watching the game, and I’m cheering for the 49ers, as I thought Garopollo was a steal of a trade ever since they got him

We just need to play our game. Were not really doing it right now. Keep it simple and we'll do good.

Special Teams are HUGE. You have a great Power Play and Penalty Kill your going to win games. They could be the reason you win a game or lose a game.

100% Kris Rice is a super yough skilled talented scorer and we'll if he's on the ice with me then he'll get it.

I will never be content. Growing up i learned to never be happy with myself and or the team. We can always improve and do better, so no way am i content with 5th hell no.

I haven't lived in Calgary my whole life so no i am not used to this sh*ty weather. Dam i hate Calgary weather.

I am super proud of my point production. Almost a PPG as a Dman on a new team i think that's fantastic.

For sure! He's a Monster!

Earlier I would have said yes, but I think we're better than that. We can finish higher.

Ohradka has not (but IRL I live 10 minutes away).

I was pretty happy with 10 point at the 21-game mark. Now at 27 games and no more points = not as happy.  I'm proud to be contributing somewhat in all areas.

Practice dodging your own facepalm.
