Interviewing the Team World GM

Today we are here with Carles Puigdemont, recently chosen to GM Team World in the next S64 World Junior Championship.

Tell us Carles, what are your expectations going into the tourney?

“Well, Team World doesn’t have the most extensive pool to choose from and, as you might know, we get to choose from the “leftovers” of the other teams, so, talent wise, we don’t get the best of the best, but I think we have managed to put together a really solid and competitive roster.”

 

Do you think that Team World will be able to take home any medal?

“I’m hoping to atleast take home the Bronze, but I think anything else is doable. It’s hockey and anything can happen.”

 

Are you excited to GM a team for the first time? Are you hoping that this opportunity opens up a new career for you?

“I’m stoked yes, it is a great opportunity and I can’t wait to take my team to the WJC finals. I also would like to learn as much as I can in my stint as a GM, hopefully some teams will notice my work and maybe hire me as a GM for the next season.”
