The Early Days

Paul was born and raised in the small town of Nashua, New Hampshire. Paul was an avid wrestling fan and lover of all physical sports which includes the sport he’s trying to make a name for himself in now, Hockey. When he was young boy Paul started getting into bodybuilding. He wanted to look like the wrestlers he saw on TV. At the young age of 16 Paul started wrestling and working in Golds Gym. During his down time he was an avid Hockey Fan idolizing the Montreal Canadians. His father Paul Lévesque Sr. was a big Quebec City Meute fan and encouraged Paul Jr. to partake in Hockey after school but he preferred wrestling. After his 16^th birthday Paul Jr. entered and won his first ever bodybuilding contest. He won the “Mr. Teenage New Hampshire”. After winning the title he quickly got a job a Golds Gym and met his soon to be wrestling coach Walter “Killer” Kowalski. He trained for two years with Kowalski and eventually signed a one year contract with the WCW (World Championship Wrestling).

 

Wrestling Career

Paul Jr. was wrestling in the WCW for about a year before he left for the WWF and donned the name he is known for…..Hunter Hurst Helmsley. He eventually worked his way up to the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Marc Mero and eventually lost it to “The Rock” four months later. Now known as Hunter he shortened his name down to the simple Triple H or HHH. It’s 1997 now and he saw a little action at WrestleMania and formed the super group known as D-Generation X with Shawn Michaels. He eventually got another shot at “The Rock” in a ladder match and defeated him to get the Intercontinental Championship back. While his father was proud of his sons achievements Paul Sr. always believed that he would have been an amazing hockey player and pestered him to take up hockey instead.

 

 

Father’s Death

At this point Triple H has been wrestling for almost fifteen years. He has won almost every Championship he could which includes the World Heavyweight Championship' 5 times, the 'WWF/WWE Championship' 9 times and the 'WWF/WWE Intercontinental Championship' 5 times. He twice won 'Royal Rumble', 'WWF European Championship' and the 'WWF Tag Team Championship’. During 2018 when Triple H was one of the faces of the WWE franchise he found out that his father had bone cancer. Paul Sr. had been hiding his cancer diagnosis from Triple H for several years, making sure his son didn’t have to worry about his condition during the height of his career. Only three weeks after Triple H found out about the cancer that Paul Sr. succumbed to it. With one of Paul’s last words he said “Paul Michael you would have made a great hockey player” He died February 3^rd 2018 in the early morning.

 

The Rise of “The Game”

At this point the loss of his father really impacted Hunter. He felt that he didn’t spend enough time with his father or appreciate that he was once a great junior hockey player and avid Quebec Meute fan. With these thoughts weighing him down he decided it was time to step away from the WWE and do his father proud. Armed with his massive wealth and the burning desire to do something with his father, he hired several of the top coaches money could buy. Building a rink in his back yard and a small training facility in HHH’s backyard was a little set back but it paid hand over fist with the amount of quality training hours he could put in at home. It was only six months later that he participated in his first ever ice hockey game. It was a men’s beer league game so the competition was not that great, HHH’s first shift on the ice had him dangling players and dragging the puck into the crease but he couldn’t put the puck in the net. The last period of the game when all the players were dogging it is where HHH really shined. His amazing cardio and physical strength carried him, he quickly potted his first ever goal with a simple floater of a wrist shot when entering the zone. After that first goal it really opened the flood gates. HHH ended the game with 4 goals and 2 assists just in the last period. Keaton Louth the VHL veteran and father of current VHL star Beau Louth was sitting in the stands and noticed HHH’s performance. HHH knew that Keaton currently played for the Helsinki Titans but remembered his father was a big fan when Keaton was in Quebec City.

 

 

After they started chatting HHH talked Keaton into coming to his house for a couple beers and to show off his impressive house rink and practice facility. After seeing HHH on the ice and seeing a spark of something potentially great, Keaton started talking about how he might want to sign in the VHLM (the minors of the VHL). While Triple H did not like the idea of not being in the spotlight right way he accepted that that’s how you get noticed and drafted into the big leagues. Keaton called a friend of his the General Manager of the Halifax 21^st Joseph McWolf and got him to offer HHH a contract. With his contract signed that night HHH was off to Halifax in the morning.

 

 

The Halifax 21^st

HHH landed in Halifax just hours before his first ever professional game. In less than 24 hours HHH went from beer leaguer to semi pro hockey player. Joseph McWolf himself was waiting at the airport to welcome him to the team and to drive him to the first game. HHH quickly chatted with the rest of his teammates and was told that he would be starting on the top line to start the game. Word got around town that the WWE superstar HHH was playing an ice hockey game in Halifax and McWolf wanted to give the fans what they wanted. In the second period HHH recorded his first ever goal with a huge slap shot from the slot to beat goaltender Divaani Sohva clean glove side. 

While only recording one point Triple H was extremely pleased it only took two periods before he got his feet wet.

This is amazing! I really like how you tied in him getting into hockey. This was perhaps the most entertaining bio I've read in a while. 10/10 Beav!!

I love how turned the notorious HHH into a hockey superstar. The backstory with small ties to hockey and then transitioning was well done. He's a little older than your average player but it's kind of funny to see a 49 year old rip it up in a league with a bunch of young guns. I really like this idea and you did a good job @Beaviss
