Recommended Posts

David Lindberg,  native of Leksand, has been developing his craft in the Frolunda Development program. The young Swedish Defensman has been a revelation and reminder to the hockey world of how Sweden is developing promising and talented players. The young David Lindberg has enjoyed a solid career so far developing at a quik rate.

Lindbergs Strengths:

Defense: A should be Strength to every defensman, Lindbergs Defense ability is more about his positioning on the ice than actual Defense. He seems to find himself often in the right spot at the right time. He reads and reacts to the Play in front of him at a quik pace which allows him to be in the right spot for the majority of his ice time.

Shooting: He often finds his ice time on the Power play due to his shot ability. He has a a powerful shot and loves to use it. A regular scoring leader among defensman in his development league, he has a strong ability at picking the puck on net, and behind the goalie. A quik release and a  powerful shot. Beyond any doubt, a shoot first defenseman.

Skating: A young man with quik feet. He’s been a quik skaters entire career. How that translates here may be a different story as he is still developing. Over his career he has been top 5 Swedish Defenseman in foot speed.

The strengths David has makes for a very strong offensive D man for any team. A power play point man with a shot. With enough training he can reach his potential and that would be awesome to see. High end Offense is his game.

Lindbergs Weakness:

Checking: While Lindberg is a strong player, he is not the greatest at checking. He has relied on his speed and positioning so he never fully developed his checking ability.

Passing: His shooting ability has been the centre of how he’s been used. While focusing on his shooting not much time has been focused on Passing. While this is a trait that can be developed, at the moment this is a point of weakness.

Fighting: Not one to be considered an Enforcer, Lindberg has 2 fights in his career, both really not going well. A relatively clean player, Lindberg doesn’t get involved. Much in after whistle activity unless its to defend a teammate, as long as it doesn’t involve fighting.

David Lindbergs weaknesses are not the end all be all of a hockey Defensman. However they are weaknesses regardless. With some training he can strengthen them enough to not be a liability. Some extra training sessions for checking and passing will round out his game enough to be more than a shoot only D man.

Overall View:

David Lindbergs game will suit a team that needs some offense. A team that needs power play help. The overall game will help any team once he rounds out his passing and checking. He is a player that is definitely worth taking a pick on. Where in the draft he goes will depend on the needs of their teams.

Review:

Great work with the pictures, you've given us an outline of a real, fleshed-out player here.

I notice there's no statline - name, age, birthplace, height, weight, etc, will all help in identifying the player a bit better.

Otherwise great formatting and content, I don't have any further criticism for this one. Welcome to the league!
