Well the new season has sprung and the games have been flying by. With that comes future predictions, as well as failed and met expectations of players. Adding to that is the pressure for certain teams to succeed and others to fail. In this edition of "Three Cheers, Three Jeers" we take a look at the beginning of the season shocks and surprises. Time to give three noticeable "Cheers" and three noticeable "Jeers" to certain players, franchises and figureheads.

The veteran forward has been an absolute beast this season and for that he gets "Cheered". Larsson was not expected to lead the league in any category but he currently sits second in points, second in PIM's and first in 5 Minute majors. Calgary isn't expected to do much damage this year but Larsson disagrees with that. Henrik has been in the shadows his entire career and only now is starting to show people what type of game he really brings night in and night out. If Calgary miraculously sneaks into the playoffs part of that will be because of Larsson's strong play.

Connor Low is showing us that he isn't just a one-time thing in the Victory Hockey League. After picking up three awards at the conclusion of last year, Low has continued on his impressive play so far this season. Low currently leads all skaters with 12 assists on the season and is second in blocked shots by defenseman. Conner is known for his on-ice product but has also developed a very good locker room voice as the New York Americans captain. The future is bright for Conner but also for the Americans squad led by this trophy winning blue liner.

Kameron Taylor isn't leading the lead in points as he so often attempts to do, but he is leading in another category; face-offs. Taylor has just under a 70% success rate when he lines up to take a draw, which allows his team to control the flow of play. Taylor isn't far off of other categories but many thought it was his year to rise up even higher and so far he has stayed quiet to his standards. Cologne is not looking to make the postseason this campaign but with his strong play it may so happen that he conducts his team in once again. The Express currently sit in the final position in the European Conference. Taylor's face-off percentage might be the reason he leads the league in shots this season as well.

Felix Zamora was a huge signing for HC Davos Dynamo in the off-season and he hasn't had a bad year by any stretch. The area where he gets "Jeered" is in the shooting statistic. Zamora's shooting percentage is at just under eight percent so far in the young season. The statistic might have to do with transition from Quebec City where he now plays with entirely new line mates. Despite this Zamora has been passing the rock as he notices his shots aren't going in. If Zamora can bounce back and increase his shooting percentage than Davos will be flying even more.

Ethan Osborne is the reigning Most Valuable Player but he hasn't shown any of that this season with the Seattle Bears. Ethan is in his final season in the victory Hockey League as he announced he will retire at the conclusion of the year. His swan song isn't being sung the way he intended it to be sung though. So far this year Ethan has a mediocre three goals and three assists.  The most glaring statistic with Ethan is his dismal -2 rating and the fact he has only taken thirty-five shots thus far. If the Bears want to make any noise at seasons-end they will need the help from their recently acquired centre.

The Toronto Legion have called Remy Lebeau's cellphone a dozen times a day trying to see if the real Remy Lebeau picks up the phone. So far this seasons Lebeau is having a very subpar campaign on all fronts. The reigning Aidan Shaw trophy winner is sitting on a 4-4 record with a 2.10 GAA and a .924 save percentage, which are nothing like his career averages. Toronto is looking to live up to the hype as the cup favourites this year but their franchise net minder is not helping the cause. If the Legion intend on winning the cup they will need their goaltender to at least get them into the postseason first.

I was going to make all pictures Jeff Carter (Quebec/LA Kings, Riga/Flyers, Davos/LA Kings Alt, Calgary/Columbus, Americans/Sault Ste. Marie and Helsinki/Columbus Alt) but it would be overkill haha

746 words. Loved the concept here. I find myself saying that about a lot of the articles I grade, but in reality, there are some really good things being produced and this was one of them. Just keep an eye out on the grammar.

Grammar: 1.5/2

Some smaller stuff. I know this looks like a lot and while it is, some of the smaller things included missing commas and some capitalization errors.

Content: 3/3 - Being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY aside, this was a pretty cool idea for an article. Definitely surprising to see Osborne and LeBeau struggling, they've been bastions of consistency and this is definitely not the way they wanted to get things going. Guess I'll have to collect my cheers on the ice.

Grammar: 1.5/2 - A lot of little stuff it seems, gloss over it a bit more carefully next time, capice?

Appearance: 1/1 - The alignment really sells this one to me, very professional-looking.

Overall: 5.5/6 - But it rounds up tooooo...

FINAL: 6/6
