Nighthawks Host Sold-Out "Boo Moscow Night" in Lieu of Playoff Games

MALMO--Earlier this season, it looked like the Nighthawks would make history. The team went on the hottest of hot streaks (at least, for an expansion team) right at the start, rising to a spot among the league's top teams for a good while before dramatically crashing and burning in what may have been one of the worst turnarounds in league history. Dropping all the way to ninth, the Nighthawks watched their playoff (and, dare I say, cup) hopes fall away, leaving their arena in need of some good use when the regular season came to a close.

With the start of the postseason, Malmo had plans, expressing their newfound rivalry with fellow expansion team the Moscow Menace through a brand-new promotion held last night to benefit those in need in the city--"Boo Moscow Night," which saw the arena filled up just as much as in any hockey game.

"We sat down and just booed Moscow for three hours straight," said Reine Ejstes, a local fan of the Nighthawks. "It was a great time and definitely worth it. It's not a playoff game, but it's the next-best thing for sure."
