Commissioner Beketov 8,639 Posted June 20, 2019 Commissioner Share Posted June 20, 2019 With the New York Americans being eliminated from the playoffs we figured it was time to announce the league’s 2nd worst kept secret, behind only the Malmo expansion. Obviously @Spade18’s activity this season was less than ideal and while we hope he will one day return to full activity levels within the league he decided, and the league agreed, that it was best to give the team to someone else that can do the historic franchise justice. So, with that said, it is the @Commissioner team's great pleasure to announce that @Esso2264 is the new General Manager of the New York Americans! Obviously this does mean he will be stepping down from his role as GM of the Ottawa Lynx and the @VHLM Commissioner team will be announcing a new GM for that franchise soon. I may never forgive @Spade18 for leaving me open in the expansion draft, but he was a good GM in my time in the big apple. Congrats @Esso2264!
