Coming in at the brisk young age of 50, A Red Guy is the latest goalie to join the VHL ranks and could instantly vault to the top of goaltender-needy pro teams' draft boards given his connection to the Muffins agency. Upon first look, A Red Guy has an interesting profile that often wouldn't lead to thoughts of a franchise netminder. They obviously don't play hockey on his native planet of Sal Minella, although he was exposed to the sport years ago when attending Earth to accept an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role. As an ambassador of the sport, he became its champion, winning the Sal Minella Hockey Fededration's first four MVP awards as the goalie for the Khla Midya Jokers and leading them to four championships.

A Red Guy reacts to winning the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role in The Wolf of Wall Street, shortly before realizing hockey was his true calling.

Among his accomplishments over his four years playing goalie at home were the career wins record (overall record of 131-13-16), the career shutout record (64), third in career goals (71), tied for second in career hat tricks (12), and fifth in game winning goals (32). As the only player capable of competently skating through the league's first three seasons, Guy would regularly test opposing goalies with cross-ice shots, becoming the only goalie to score a hat trick in a shutout (which he did four times) and the only goalie to score a game-winning goal in a shutout victory (a feat he accomplished 11 times).

By the time year four rolled around, it became clear the Sal Minellan league was finally beginning to exhibit some skill, resulting in a drop-off in numbers for A Red Guy, who remained the league's best goalie, but not by as massive a margin. Whether he was running from increased competition in the league he founded, satisfied with the growing quality of the sport one his home planet, looking to challenge himself, or some combination of the three, A Red Guy ultimately felt it was time to take his talents to the planet where it all began.

It was unclear how much value a 50-year-old red blob-looking thing would be given on the hockey scene, but that didn't deter the enterprising spirit of A Red Guy. He sent tape of his play to scouts for just about every NHL team (strangely omitting Winnipeg and Columbus), going largely ignored. One scout that bothered to do a full evaluation scored him a 2.0f, saying that he was wasting his time trying to make it as a professional goaltender on Earth. From there, A Red Guy had to expand his reach.

He sent his tape to representatives of nearly every professional league on the planet. He also went for another long shot by sending his tape to officially registered VHL agencies, and was shocked to find the Muffins agency liked his potential and star power enough to sign him to a developmental pact. After a year working at that, A Red Guy has seen his path to the league formulate as Marvin Harding announced his retirement Sunday. A Red Guy will now be tasked with working hard not to sully the agency's reputation of developing goaltenders, with their first foray at the position being uber-raw prospect Joey Clarence in Season 18, who developed into a Cup-winning netminder in one of the stronger eras of VHL goaltending.
