Anonymous Billionaire Willing to Foot Bill for Oregon Expansion

Portland, Oregon – One of the biggest issues that always gets brought up when a sports league is looking to relocate a franchise or even expand is the use of public money to build the facilities to house the franchise. While some people say the economic boom brought along with a new franchise is well worth the initial bill footed by the tax payers many are of the opinion that no public money should be used to pay for the private venture that is a sports franchise. Luckily for the prospective Oregon expansion bid a yet to be named local billionaire has stated he will foot the entirety of the bill to get a franchise here. We approached Portland mayor Ted Hales for comment.

‘It is true. A local billionaire, who has asked not to be named at this point in the process, has committed to cover both the cost of the expansion fee and the building of the required facilities to get a team here. When we initially put our bid in this was not part of our plan and we were going to require public money to get this done. Once he heard that we were serious about our bid he immediately approached our office and put his offer on the table.’

It is no doubt that this revelation will help with Oregon’s bid going forward.
