Lewis Dawson is a bulking forward who spent his junior days with the Ottawa 67's. His ability to see the open ice and hit his wingers with breakout passes make him a dangerous threat from his own end of the ice. Dawson has a big frame and uses his size to his advantage when shielding off opposing players but ins't going to break the glass with his hits or anything. His passing ability makes him a threat, but his vision is a real advantage for teams because its like having an extra coach on the ice. His leadership skills are high as he tends to bring the best out in his line mates. The career he played out in Ottawa didn't go as he or the franchise planned, as he spent two season there and has four playoff losses to show for it. That being said, Dawson was starting to hit his stride before coming over into the VHLM.

One of the finer points of his career has been his ability to pick up signals from management and change his game to help him on the ice. The off-season after his first season with eh 67's was one of the best off-seasons that any junior player had that year. He trained hard, was on the ice everyday (except Sundays) and worked out with professional players from the Ottawa Senators who had a joint mentorship program with the 67's junior teams. Dawson became somewhat of an X-factor for the 67's in his second season and it resulted in more ice time and more chances to succeed.

The one craziest stat about Dawson has nothing to do with his on ice play or gym trainings but just the simple fact that he is from the country of Greenland. Greenland has produced zero hockey players for the professional leagues across North America, so Dawson's odds are definitely not in his favour. That being said, he considers himself a Canadian because of the time he has spent honing his craft in Newfoundland and being apart of the minor hockey system in Canada. Greenland isn't even a country that has a hockey federation recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Dawson is looking to make history, but also to catch on with a Victory Hockey League club in the future. It's a big change for Dawson to go from Greenland to Mexico in the matter of a couple months. His time in the VHLM will be summed up with hopefully things more hot than just the weather down there.
