A lockdown skater, Drumm is seemingly the next Aussie prep to leave the desolate plains of Western Australia and try his hand at a career in the Victory Hockey League.  Having played this past season for the Houston Bulls, Charles decided to give up his amateur rights to the minor league affiliate and prepare for the upcoming Season 67 VHL Entry Draft.  A raw skill, Drumm has worked through two years of change to develop the talent necessary to become more than just a big-bodied hitter.

Season 66 was about as slow as they come for Drumm.  A second-pairing for the (San Diego) Marlins, he was both inconsistent and undisciplined in his own zone.  Forget his offensive prowess; the defenseman struggled just to maintain the puck.  In the second half of his first year, a lonely 8 assists and -24 rating left the prep defenseman with little to work with.

As luck would have it, some off-season work in the gym paired with being drafted by Houston would be the boost that Drumm needed to get to the next level.  An experienced coaching staff and considerably better players drove the defenseman to better overall play, specifically on the defensive end.  Now on the first line, Drumm began to make a name for himself as a defensive stalwart, accumulating 120 hits and 96 shots blocked through 71 games.  This was an entirely new situation for him, being counted on for neutralizing some of the best forwards in the minors.  While the offense still didn’t seem to click for him, his passing did get better; 44 assists generated seemed fair given what he excelled at.

Having announced his intent to be selected in the upcoming Season 67 VHL Entry Draft, Drumm couples strong skating with good composure.  His ability to force turnovers and get the puck out of the zone is what drew Houston’s front office to draft him in the first place.  As a 5th round pick, most teams would be happy with a depth signing, however by mid-season, Drumm was the topic of conversation between GM’s of opposing teams trying to find a boost before the playoffs.  Charles hopes to continue progressing his defensive talent by getting stronger and working on his backcheck.  While it is nothing to speak highly about, his ever-increasing puck-handling gets him more assists than you would think.

With that comes some certain deficiencies as well.  Never considered a play-maker, his relegation to the blue line from a forward position always seemed inevitable.  His shot, although strong, is certainly nothing to be proud about.  All eight of his career VHLM goals have come in man-down situations.  Not necessarily his own fault, but there is also something to be said about a good defensive player who can’t keep his plus/minus positive.  Some scouts wonder if that’ll ever happen in the pros.  Charles’ lack of scoring as a player, generally, is something that will probably haunt him throughout his professional career.  He is also really, really bad at goaltending, so he should never be considered for this position ever.  Literally, if a team tried him behind the net, Drumm would probably retire and find another career or go to college/university.  The fact that a team would even try to move Drumm to become a goalie is not just hilarious, but poor scouting on their part.  Please, for the love of God, do not play Charles Drumm as a goalie in either the VHL/VHLM.

Deemed a likely mid-round pick by most draft pundits, Charles Drumm is largely viewed as a quality second-pairing defenseman in the Victory Hockey League.  Probably a “project” on a good team if he gets drafted by a playoff contender.  Statistically speaking, it will take him a few seasons to really float good numbers.   Odds of him ever making the all-star game are slim, at best.

Review:

Australia is always an interesting place to start when you make it to one of the big leagues. It's cool to see.

I like how you switch it up from a generic looking RP with listed attributes, and just write it into the paragraphs with bolding.

There's one little thing with your RP, and it's that the guidelines state your Pros and Cons section should be at least 350 words, because it's the core section. You come in a little over 200, so if you could add like 100 words there you'll be good to go.
