7 skäl till att Modo går mot succé | Örnsköldsviks startsida ...

Born in Sundsvall, Sweden, Jesper Norberg is a right winger who excels at the offensive aspects of the game. He has a fairly average frame, and his most notable skill is his goal scoring. He has played most of his career in MODO Hockey colours, but his high level hockey started with IF Sundsvall Hockey's U16 team.

U16 Elit

In his first season in the U16 Elit he scored 35 goals and had 12 assists for 47 points in 24 games. It wasn't the greatest season in terms of point production, but he was still finding his game. For the most part in Sundsvall he was a very good goal scorer and that was it. Over time more aspects of his offensive game would improve, and in his second season in the U16 Elit, after making major improvements to his skating and passing, he put up a much more even statline with 32 goals and 34 assists for 66 points in 26 games.

SuperElit

After a fantastic season with Sundsvall he moved to Faresta outside of Örnsköldsvik to play for MODO Hockey's J20 team. After continuing to improve every year, he played 3 seasons in the SuperElit, with a few games here and there in other leagues he put up pretty good numbers which led him to make his debut in the SHL.

SHL

After a fantastic run in the SuperElit he played in his last season there got cut short so he could debut for MODO's SHL team. He went pointless in his first 4 games, but played well enough to be given more chances. In his fifth game he scored 2 goals which kick-started his real first SHL season the next year. In his second year he played 17 games, had 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points. It was around this time he started considering the VHLM as an option to continue his career.

International

He did not see much international play or success until he was 19 and was selected for the WJC-20 where he had 7 points in 8 games. He has continued his international success since then with an all-time 15 goals, 12 assists, 27 points in 25 international games for Sweden.

The Future

Norberg's aforementioned successes led him to be recently signed by the Halifax 21st in the VHLM. He looks to continue improving his offensive ability and also wants to put in extra work to improve his defensive game to be a more well-rounded winger.
