Top 3 Impactful Performances for Wild

After a pretty easy five game series win, the Saskatoon Wild have tossed Ottawa to the curb and move on to face their next victim.  However, in reflection of their fairly dominant series, lets look at the top three performances of the first round for Saskatoon:

* Kazimir Komarov (LW) - 5 GP, 5 G, 6 A, 11 P, +7, 10 Hits - Kazimir Komarov led the Wild in scoring during the first round and did so fairly convincingly.  With an impressive goal-per-game pace, Komarov was by far the most dangerous sniper on the ice at all times.  Komarov, who is a veteran of the VHLM and will likely be playing in the VHL next season, was coming off a dominant 116 point season and simply transitioned his impressive offensive performances into the playoffs.  He also showed off his physicality, joining seven others on the team with double-figures in hits during their swift first round performance.

* Adam Frence (RW) - 5 GP, 6 G, 3 A, 9 P, +6, 10 Hits, 2 GWG - Kazimir Komarov may have led the team in points during the first round, but Adam Frence led them in goals.  Not settling for cheap goals either, two of the six goals Frence scored during the first round were game-winning-goals.  Frence, whose work ethic really was starting to show up towards the end of the year, impressed many watching who felt he may be nothing more than an accessory piece to some of the team's other top players like Lucas Brandt and Timothy Brown.  After-all, Frence only had 34 points in the regular season, mainly due to very little ice time for a lot of the year due to his inconsistent work ethic.  Frence proved a lot of people wrong in the first round and will look to continue to do so going forward.

* Tyler Walker (D) - 5 GP, 4 G, 5 A, 9 P, +8, 10 Hits, 11 SB - The league's top scoring defender and leading assist getter, Tyler Walker, continued his tremendous play in the first round of the VHLM Playoffs.  The defenseman did it all in their five game series with four goals, five assists, ten hits and eleven blocked shots to go along with the team's best plus/minus rating at +8.  Statistically, he was probably their overall best player of the first round, especially when considering his defensive impact.  The defender who many see as the most likely first overall pick has a lot of pressure on his shoulders during this playoff run, and will need to continue this run in order for the Wild to get the Founders Cup.
