Quik 4,113 Posted July 6, 2020 Share Posted July 6, 2020 Season 73 VHL Draft Lottery + Expansion Team Draft Slot Lottery Date: Monday, July 6th, 2020 Time: 10:25AM EDT - 10:30AM EDT Good morning VHL! Today is the VHL Draft Lottery, which will determine the draft order for the non-Playoff teams, as well as the slots that the four Expansion Teams will select from. As a refresher, the rules for both of these lotteries are as follows: Quote The odds for winning the lottery are based on the VHL's regular season standings as follows: 12th Place: 30% ( ) 11th Place: 25% ( ) 10th Place: 25% ( ) 9th Place: 20% ( ) The maximum spots a team can move down is 1 spot. If the result of the lottery still allows teams to move down a maximum of one spot, there will be a second lottery for 2nd and/or 3rd overall. Effectively: If 9th Place wins 1st Overall, the 12th-11th-10th Place teams each drop down one spot. If 10th place wins 1st Overall, the 12th-11th Place teams each drop down one spot. If 11th place wins 1st Overall, the 12th Place team drops down one spot, and there's a lottery between 9th-10th Place, to determine the 3rd Overall pick. If 12th place wins 1st Overall, there is a lottery between the 11th-10th-9th Place teams. If 11th Place wins that lottery, there is a lottery between the 10th-9th Place teams to determine the 3rd Overall pick. Quote S73 VHL Entry Draft slots, for where Expansion Teams will be drafting, will be determined randomly at the same time as the VHL Draft Lottery, falling anywhere from 5-12 Once the draft slots are finalized, they will be added to the Expansion Draft for teams to determine their own place in the S73 Draft With the Rules out of the way, let's get to the two lotteries, starting with where the Expansion Slots will fall: Spoiler This means the Expansion Teams will be drafting out of the 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th slots in each round of the S73 VHL Entry Draft. Which team will hold each slot will be determined in the S73 Expansion Draft. Now that the Expansion Team draft slots are determined, we will continue on to the S73 VHL Draft Lottery, to determine which teams will be selecting 1-4 in the first round: Spoiler Spoiler Which means that the draft order for the S73 VHL Entry Draft will be as follows: Spoiler Round 1 D.C.
