London After Lesieur

The London United made the first major trade of their existence earlier this week, dealing leading scorer Guy Lesieur back to the D.C. Dragons, his home before the VHL Expansion Draft, for a 1st round pick. Lesieur is currently 4th in VHL scoring with 52 points in 34 games.

“Malcontent?” United winger The Terrible Trivium said, responding to a reporter who asked about the trade. “No, definitely not. Guy was a leader in this locker room, the sort of quiet leader that you hear about sometimes. He is a lead by example type of leader. It was no secret that he was surprised to be available in the Expansion Draft, but he handled his time in London like a true professional. Obviously it’s a big loss for our team, but there’s not a single player in this room who harbors any ill will toward Guy. We obviously wish him the best with the rest of the season.”

The United currently have a 13-21 record, which puts them third from the bottom of the standings, ahead of expansion brethren in Chicago and Warsaw.
