Leading the Charge with a Chip on His Shoulder

“I told you all on draft night,” Team World right wing The Terrible Trivium said following this morning’s game, where he notched three points, “my goal is to make 15 general managers look stupid. What you saw today was just scratching the surface. Mr. Thirty-First Overall is gonna prove them all wrong,” he concluded, a hard cast to his eyes.

With five points in his last two games with the Team World, for which both performances earned first star selections, The Terrible Trivium is somewhat justified for his brash, almost arrogant comments. His 13 points is the highest total for any team in the world junior championship tournament, and both his five goals and eight assists are tied for the tournament lead.

Similarly, Trivium has been on a bit of a hot streak with the expansion London United, particularly since the trade of star winger Guy Lesieur. Trivium is steadily approaching a point-per-game pace, and just recently notched his 20th goal of the VHL regular season.

“There are certainly still some concerns about his long-term ceiling,” one VHL scout revealed. “That being said, it’s hard to argue right now that he should not have been a first round pick, especially with his World Juniors performance.”
