Hi Everyone,

 

As you all know, the holiday season is upon us! A quick glance at the Season Schedule will show you that today is supposed to be the start of the S75 Theme Week, but given the timing of things, we are doing it a bit different this season and throwing it back to last year’s massively successful 12 Days of Christmas and Annual Charity Drive, with a bit of a different twist this time around. 

 

Beginning today, we will kick off our Donation Drive and 12 Days of Christmas. On Friday, December 11th, we will begin our Holiday Auction where members will be able to bid on things from Custom Forum or Discord Groups (including a choice of colour for your personal group, to distinguish yourself from everyone else) to naming rights on a next player, and anything in between.

 

Similar to last year, the league has selected Food Banks Canada and Feeding America as our charitable organizations for this year’s donation drive, as we look to help those less fortunate than us in a year that needs it more than ever. As with our previous two donation drives, the league will take 0% from any money received, as 100% of the money raised will go to the two organizations.

 

How will it all work? Essentially the same as last year, but here are the exact details for each portion of our holiday season for 2020:

 

Charity Drive: December 7th - 20th

Starting right now, members can begin donating. Whether you do so through the league, by donating HERE, privately to either organization, or any charitable foundation of your choosing (receipt proof required for donations made outside the league), it will all count towards the overall contribution from the league.

 

From that overall contribution, the league will match donations up to $500 CAD, and add that to the donations through the league, splitting the total contribution (money donated through the league + the league contribution) equally to both organizations.

 

Please post all confirmations of donation to THIS THREAD. Any donation of $5 CAD, or more, will result in an automatic personal reward, which will be outlined in the prizes/milestones below.

 

As this is the season of giving, members may donate on behalf of one other user.

 

12 Days of Christmas: December 7th - 18th

This year’s 12 Days of Christmas will be similar to last year’s, where there will be a daily thread to claim “tickets” into our final raffle, which will be drawn on Wednesday, December 23rd on a live stream. For this raffle, there will be 4 tiers of prizes, with each day contributing to your entry into each tier, as follows:

 

Dec. 07 - 09: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 1 raffle (1 ticket gained per day)

Dec. 10 - 12: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 2 raffle (1 ticket gained per day)

Dec. 13 - 15: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 3 raffle (1 ticket gained per day)

Dec. 16 - 18: Scavenger Hunt. Each day we will post an image of the 3 Commissioners in a mystery location. Find all 3 for a single entry into the Tier 4 raffle, as well as 1 Uncapped TPE. You will have until 11:59PM PST each day to send a PM with a link to that day’s image to @VHL Santa. 

 

**Please use the same PM with a new response each day, to make it easier to keep track of who has found all 3 images.**

 

Number of Winners per tier

• Tier 1: 10 Winners
• Tier 2: 5 Winners
• Tier 3: 3 Winners
• Tier 4: 1 Winner

 

Holiday Charity Auction: December 11th - 15th

Beginning on Friday, the 11th, we will open all auctions in a specially created forum, with all opening bids set to $2 CAD, and a minimum $0.50 raise for all bids. These auctions will close at 11:59PM PST on Tuesday, December 15th. All winners will then be asked to pay their winning bid to the league donation pool, through the league paypal, and all proceeds from the Holiday Auction will count towards the overall contribution to the organizations, from the league.

 

In addition to winning the auctioned items, anyone who wins will also be eligible to claim the same personal reward as those who donate $5 or more, which will be outlined in the prizes/milestones below.

Drunk Birb Holiday Charity Stream: December 12th @ 7PM EST

Resident VHL Streamer/Eggnog aficionado @Esso2264 will be doing a live gaming stream on Saturday, December 12th, where all proceeds will be donated/added to the overall league tally.

 

Rewards and Donation Milestones

As previously mentioned, there will be personal rewards to those who participate in the charity drive / holiday auction, as well as milestones to hit that will result in rewards for the community as a whole!

Hi @Members, with that confirmation, the league has surpassed all 3 milestones for total contributions to the 2020 Holiday Charity Drive. Thank you to everyone who has contributed! If you haven't donated yet, the donation drive will continue through the 20th, and all donations through the league paypal will be added to the amounts we split among Food Banks Canada and Feeding America, while you will be eligible to claim the personal donation rewards, if you haven't already.
