Hadrian Enters VHLM Draft

Many of you have heard of Hadrian's Wall, an old Roman-era stone wall erected by the Roman emperor Hadrian running from the River Tyne to Solway Firth, across what is now England. However, the guy who created it, Hadrian, has never really been known in the western world. That is, until now. The former emperor has been reincarnated as an English ice hockey player, who fittingly plays as a defenseman. Hadrian was Roman emperor for 21 years in the first century AD, known for conquering parts of the present-day United Kingdom and generally being a swell guy.

However, Hadrian the hockey player is not as swell of a guy (on-ice at least) as Hadrian the emperor. He's known for being a brick wall in defense who doesn't want to let any opposition forwards pass (do you not see the parallels here?), and he will stop you by any means possible. He's a big hitter who's got good strength (his 6'6", 250 lb frame was made for being a battering ram) and is a decent passer of the puck (as an Emperor, Hadrian visited every province in Rome so he was known for passing around a lot), but that best attribute of his has to be his defense. While Hadrian can also do some (but not a lot of) scoring, as he's never really been attack-minded (yet again, can you see the parallel between this guy and the emperor?), and his skating is a work in progress as one would expect from a relatively new player, he's got immense potential as a stay at home defenseman whose main focus is preventing goals.

Off ice, Hadrian is known as a benefactor of the arts who enjoys travelling in his spare time, and rumors state that when he's eligible for the VHL Draft he'd like to play with VHLM teammates like William of Orange, Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Jurgis Kalvelis Blazevicius if possible. If not, his rumoured destination of choice is London so he can stay in his home country of England.

Hadrian recently played the tail end of the season (5 games to be exact) with the Houston Bulls of the VHLM, scoring 2 points, both assists, while racking up 12 hits, 13 blocked shots, and 18 penalty minutes (discipline is an issue but can be worked on like his other weaknesses). The young British blueliner is considered a top-10 prospect and the best defensive player in the upcoming S77 draft class, and should be a first round pick. By which team? That's unknown. Hadrian was reported to have enjoyed his brief spell with the Bulls, placing them on the top of his draft list by far, but is also reportedly open to other teams, as the agent who represents him had players who played for both the Ottawa Lynx and Yukon Rush, one of which being VHLM star (and VHL bust) Richard Penisson, who scored 199 points not so long ago. Hadrian is that agent's first defensive player so he's not expected to put up as many points as his previous players, but he has the bags of potential that those two notoriously lacked and has all the makings of a future defensive beast.

Wooooo hey blues :)! Cool to see another player who is following the trend of historically themed figures and this is definitely one of the more wacky ones! I enjoyed reading this write-up and liked your style and the info you provided quite a bit, the layout could use a little bit of work though, be it through better spacing or some optical highlights.
