GENERAL REVIEW

Cowboy Prout’s on ice skills are nothing short but spectacular. From his debut season in the pros of VHLM being drafted 1st overall shows you this is a franchise defender that’s unlike no other the hockey community has seen. His skating is so good with his abilities to use his edge work in tight spaces. His breakout passes are crisp and again it’s all due to his skating abilities. He’s not a big player on the blue line sitting at 5’9 but he makes up for it with speed, strength and balance. His agility to be shifty as he’s smooth puck handling and can go end to end if needed.

Offensive Game

Cowboy Prout has proven to be a solid option to be the quarterback on any situation when it’s on the offensive side of the puck. His passing plays are remarkable. His shot is still a weakness as he’s not much of a goal scoring one timer option as he’s more suited for puck-handling and being a pass first. His shooting will need to be worked on and it’s already shown progress this past season and into the Marlin cup run. Cowboy Prout can also make those long stretch passes which leads to a lot of odd man rush opportunities or even breakaways with the right players supported. His vision is spectacular to watch. He’s quick on breakouts and leading the way. His skating is such a strong point that he jumps in the rushes and becomes a threat to the opposing team.

Defensive Review

Cowboy Prout has shown some good smart IQ plays and gets body position and can really box out players. His strength sometimes can cause him to be less discipline and does make him to tend to take defensive side plenty's. He will need to work on that especially in the VHL. Cowboy has shown he’s not feared of any player to step up and make hits or go battle in the corners. Cowboys shot blocking is an elite strength of his as it looks like he genuinely enjoys to eat pucks every time ones coming towards the goal.

VHL outlook

This young prospect that’ll suit up for a struggling team in New York will have a lot of ice time and opportunities to prove why he was a steal in his big draft class. He’s going to show the league why he’s an elite defencemen already and is franchise player. He will lead the blue line and show his leadership abilities after being the captain for the Marlins he’s a player all coaches love for any situation and is always the hardest worker in the room. He’s just a beast of nature if you will say about his love for practice and working out. He will have a lot of confidence going into this season and making the jump. He will need to work on some minor things but his strengths will show in seasons to come.
