Michelangelo "Mikey" Harris was born into no ordinary family. Growing up in Philadelphia, both of his brothers played in the VHLM, and his eldest brother Josh made it very close to making it to the majors. However both of them failed, and their failure motivated Mikey to make sure that he made it to the pros. The first major team he played for was his brother Josh's 13U team, when he split time playing both defenseman and winger, and had 70 points (18 goals, 52 assists). After he spent the year in Philadelphia, he moved to Toronto to play in the GTHL U16 AAA.

While he was the youngest player in the league, he was still able to have a successful season. Amid limited ice time, Mikey was able to have 70 points(30 goals, 40 assists) once again, and he was starting to get interest from the CHL. His family wanted to move back to the United States so Mikey committed to the USNTDP U17 team. He was the youngest to ever to play for the U17 team and he was able to exceed all expectations. Mikey was still deciding if he was going to go the CHL or stay in his home country and continue to play for the USNTDP. He really wanted to follow in the footsteps of his brothers and make it to the VHLM in his teenage years, but at that point of his career he wasn't getting a lot interest from the teams. While playing for the team Mikey had 93 points (46 goals and 47 assists). He was also invited to the United States Under 17 team, which took him no hesitation to accept. The team did not do as well as they hoped in the world championships however and Mikey did not want to touch a hockey stick for a long time.

His brothers convincing him that he needed to continue working on his game and not let one bad experience make him lose his love for the game is the only reason why he continued to work on his game constantly. Eventually he started to get interest from teams in the OHL as well QMJHL teams. He was projected to be a third round pick in the import draft and the family was preparing to leave for Canada before Mikey received a message from the coach of the Miami Marauders telling Mikey that was good enough to play in the VHLM. He didn't get an offer from Miami, but later got one for Mississauga which he promptly accepted and played 37 games, scoring 31 points( 9 goals, 22 assists). And that brings us to the present day, draft night.
