Reylynn Reinhart, the second of the Reinhart clan to join the VHL comes from Nuuk, Greenland. She comes from a large family and all of which are hockey players. Reylynn is actually a fraternal twin and her twin brother already plays in the VHLM. Asher Reinhart who already plays for Houston got to America a few weeks ago. Reylynn had issues getting her work visa in order before she could join him in North America. She also has two younger brothers who are following a similar path as her and Asher did that will be making their way to the VHL in only a few short seasons.

Reylynn played with her brother in a travelling league in Greenland. There wasn’t much competition in Greenland so they would make the trek over to Europe and spend months at a time on the road with their team. Everywhere they went the Reinhart twins were turning heads.

As they grew out of minor hockey and were scouted for junior leagues the Vaxjo Timberwolves were the first to get the chance to have not one but both of the twins on their roster. They had the high flying, playmaking forward in Asher and the responsible two way defender in Reylynn.

Though the hockey came easy for Rey, being a woman playing in a men’s league was never that easy. Sure there were crazy fans who supported the team regardless of who played on it but there was always a group that shamed Vaxjo and Reylynn for having a woman playing on the team. It was hard for Reylynn to shut out the negativity but she always had the support of her brother Asher and her teammates. She let her play on the ice determine who she was going to be.

When the opportunity came that Reylynn would move to pro hockey, the VHL was a no brainer. A league that welcomes both men and women alike. A league that accepts you for who you are and allows you to play to the best of your ability without having to worry about the negativities that come with life.

The sky is the limit for this young talented defender and I am excited to see where this path takes her. She has set an amazing example for boys and girls alike in Greenland and we are really starting to see some amazing talent starting to produce from this beautiful country. Maybe they even have a World Cup Team of their own one day!
