Deathwalker ends VHLM season on high note

In a season where it was known that there were a few high-octane teams at the top of the VHLM and then everyone else, the rebuilding Mississauga Hounds were holding on to a playoff spot until about the last quarter of the season when the wheels came off. They ended the season with an eight-game losing streak before beating the top two teams in the league to finish off the season. Power forward Druss Deathwalker capped off his solid season with seven points in those last two wins which brought his totals to 32 goals and 46 assists for 78 points good for 2nd on the Hounds and 7th among league right wingers. Deathwalker was a physical force most nights having multiple games of 10 hits and finished off with 335 which was 2nd in the league and led all forwards. He also led the Hounds in plus/minus (+8), and was among the league leaders in PIM (153), power play goals (15), short-handed goals (2), hat tricks (2), and shootout goals (2).

In spite of not qualifying for the playoffs, Deathwalker, who is expected to go in the first round of the VHL draft, enjoyed his time with the Hounds and sees a bright future ahead.

"I want to thank the Hounds' management @Zetterberg @tcookie for creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere for a bunch of guys that had never played together before. Even though the result at the end was not where we wanted it, I had a blast and loved being a Hound! You guys will have a great season next year! Thanks for the memories!"
