RstortonYT 27
I was able to speak to Helsinki Titans forward Raihan Heavems yesterday, here are some of the most notable things from the interview. Q: Your VHL rookie season is in the books, you put up 22 points in 72 games on a rebuilding Titans team. Overall how do you feel now that your rookie season is in the books? A: Well you know obviously the results aren't what we wanted, finishing close to bottom of the league but we have a young team, a good group of guys. There will be growing pains but I am confident that this group can contend soon. Q: How did you approach the transition from the VHLM to the VHL? A: The transition was obviously very difficult, going from being over a point per game player to playing in a reduced role in the big league but it took time and I think that I can make plenty of noise next season. This league better watch out. Q: You recently played in the VHLE draft tournament for the Istanbul Red Wolves. What was that like? A: It was awesome getting some more games in. The VHLE is awesome and I think the draft tournament was a great idea. Everyone was awesome in Istanbul and the VHLE is a great idea for the VHL universe. Q: What was morale like in Helsinki despite the team's record not being too great this season? A: Well I don't think that too many of us really expected us to win the Cup and while losing as much as we did obviously sucked, we came into this season knowing that we were a part of a rebuild, I knew I was coming into a rebuild based off of the trade that I was apart of but we know we are gonna grow into a contending team. Thanks for your time Raihan.
