Battle in the Crease for the Steel

              It appears some big questions need to be answered for the Steel in goal. Although it appears they have committed to Thomas Price as their starter, Wiley Blanchette has emerged as one of the best goalies in the showcase. Coming in relief during the second and third games for the Steel, Blanchette has already faced 37 shots in 64 minutes of play. In his time in net he has only conceded 2 goals, one in each game. In his limited time in goal Blanchette has been a clear X-factor immediately when he comes into the game. With a .943 save percentage and 1.88 goals against average he has posted by far the best numbers of any goalie in the showcase, although in a much smaller sample size. It seems that by these metrics it is only a matter of time before Blanchette gets an opportunity to prove he can be a starter. The only question that remains is if Blanchette will be able to handle the pressure when all the eyes are on him or will he fall back to earth and remain the backup for the Steel?
