Spangle 49
Through 41 games in the VHLM season, Ottawa goalie Soren Douffet has continued to struggle. Thoug his 3.18 goals against average is impressive, his 85.4% save percentage is one of the worst in the league. "I honestly would not blame General Manager Gow if he were to trade for another goalie to replace me. Heck, I would be trying to replace me. For a team that could be Founders Cup champions, I have simply not pulled my weight on the ice. I have been working hard off of it to improve my game, but it has simply not been working. This is a competitive business, so I know that if I do not perform, I lose my spot and have not been performing," said Douffet. Despite his suggestion of a possible trade, there have been no rumors that Ottawa is actually looking to replace the young Belgian, though they have been working closely with him to try to turn around his season. "The goalie coach and I have spent many extra hours working on my game trying to fix everything that is wrong with it. I know you will not always be successful in this game, but for 41 straight games, I have been entirely lackluster. I love being here in Ottawa and love this team, so it hurts to know that I am the cause of our suffering," said Douffet. Only time will tell if he can actually turn things around, but as of now, there does appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel for Douffet or the Lynx. 264 words Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/11311-douffet-floundering/ Share on other sites
