The Lynx were hyped up all pre-season as the next VHLM power team with nobody in their way of a Founders Cup win.  But from the very beginning, that just has not been true as the Brampton Blades and Saskatoon Wild got off to fast starts and haven't relented.  But just as the Blades and Wild have begun to show signs of being human, the Lynx have absolutely taken off and now find themselves right on the tails of their conference foes.  What has been widely considered a two-team race appears to be adding a new team to the mix.

While the Wild have been relatively average as of late, winning just six of their last eleven games and the Blades simply being less dominant, dropping two of their last eight, the Lynx have finally put it all together and exerted total dominance over their opponents.  They've won each of their last thirteen games by a combined 45 goals, displaying just how strong a team they are.  Much of this success can be attributed to Souren Douffet, who appears to have finally overcome his struggles that plagued the team as he's played well and recorded his first shutout in a 7-0 beatdown of the Oslo Storm.  If Douffet can continue to improve and play well, the Lynx have all the ingredients to make a strong case for the Founders Cup and potentially overcome their early struggles and perhaps grab the top seed in their conference.
