Arpa rushes to Geneva

     It wasn't what Miervaldis visioned when thinking about the future and they definitely didn't expect to go 1st overall but cheaper plane tocket on one of the more built teams in Europe should be exciting however you slice the ice. Last season we all got a glimpse of what this net defender was made of and they're sure ready to take on better competition, with only two defenseman and a offensive heavy strategy it was clear to the scouts this prospect doesn't shy away from shots, using their excellent rebounding to take breaks and exchanging that extra energy to make effortless saves in close games starts to paint a picture why they were the first player selected in the VHLE entry draft.

 

On draft day Arpa was tired and hungry after training with their brother (euroleague goalie) which made them totally forget about the potential phone calls, after loading up the laptop it was a surprise to see a contract from a new club but it wasn't long before suitcases were packed and Miervaldis Arpa was rushing to the airport. Still a little beat from the competition at home and uncertain of a far future, this goaltender will be ready for anything that gets thrown at them, playing their career with an on ice mentality.

 

What is going through your mind after being called down as the 1st overall pick?

"You know I'm very excited to be selected 1st, the team could have went another way but decided to rely on me for the upcoming season, they are one of the newest franchises so it'll be cool to potentially write my name in the Geneva history books."
