diacope 1,696
Age -> Position -> Jersey -> Style 19 -> Center -> #9 -> Offensive We haven't seen many highlights from this young star in the VHLM so it makes sense why a family tree player could get passed on earlier in the draft but during his short stint with the Ottawa Lynx he primarily played on the 4th line as an extra forward and came into action whenever the team needed an extra punch, the chances were there.. Unfortunately the red light never lit on any of his long bomb wrist shots and mistakes happened, still optimistic though we saw Tyler front and center on draft night. However before ever becoming involved with the VHLM, Busser was part of a very good Latvian junior team where he got his debut, during those days the pure grind and determination shown throughout the 2 seasons spent made his father, ex-VHLer and Continental Cup winner, Ryan Busser a very happy man.. Knowing his son was putting in the work like he did many seasons ago. The only major difference in both of their games is how they get points and Tyler definitely proved he had a better shot than Ryan who liked to dish out long bomb passes during his time in the league. One more thing we didn't mention is the leadership and morale of this player, if a team wants to get the momentum going or make a weaker player better, make sure to send him on the ice because that's one thing that sets Busser apart from the other prospects. Now with a couple of experiences and some strong genes it seems like T.B. could follow in his fathers footsteps or do even better, gonna be interesting and fun to watch as it all plays out since the journey has just begun. Ready to go.. Scoring ability - No matter where he is on the ice.. There's a shot to be made, this is partly do to his excellent skating to burst into action and past defenders, the other half of this ability is the shot, well placed and always has plenty of mileage. Since Busser is a strike first player we think the PP is where he should shine the most. Work ethic - Instilled in him since birth having a family of athletes made it easy for Tyler to find the right routines and workout the key areas of his body to excel past newer players. We don't know why it wont continue so expect to see it his whole career, we also know it will help boost linemates wherever he ends up and that's something experienced managers usually look for, another checkmark! Leadership - Not known to be over hype in the dressing room but with a calm demeanor, a good head on his shoulders and a never giving up positive personallity, Busser displays himself as a VHLer right away and should have newer players up to speed if they choose to follow. Still needs work.. Physicality - Something we don't see a whole lot during Tyler's career is hits and his mentality is similar to his father who would rather perfect their offensive production instead of taking bad penalties. One thing that's diffetent though would be his size, he is much taller and has the potential to be a physical player being a couple more inches taller + 20 pounds heavier. Puck control Right now it's a work in progress and by the end of the season we should see plenty of improvements but if offense is the main goal we don't see much puck protection, specially with a hot hand who likes to release it right away and with an overindulgence in skating to open areas.. Passes become harder and harder to hold onto when you cant control who the playmaker is. Discipline Almost identical to another problem this player has is taking bad penalties while trying to get the puck at any cost, offense is the goal and you need the puck to do that so sometimes Tyler is over aggressive with the stick and finds himself reaching too far, tripping or shooting it over the boards while trying to get inside the zone for another shot at the net.
