Interview with Molly the Cat, Season 84 playoffs

Molly the Cat, game 3 of the VHLE semifinals has just finished. Vasteras Iron Eagles have just beaten the Cologne Express for the third straight game, how are you feeling? 

 

I would be lying if I did not say I was feeling great. It is always a wonderful feeling to be ahead in a series and a 3-0 lead is what every team is hoping for. Although the series is 3-0 it has been a close contest. The Cologne Express are a fantastic team with some extraordinarily strong players. We know that they are going to come out hard in this fourth game looking to take a win. You do not have players like Malum Maellard and Velociraptor Greg on your team without having the capacity to win. All three games have only had a one goal differential. I expect that you will see a hard-fought match in the next game. 

 

Molly the Cat, let us talk about the other series going on in the VHLE, first have you been paying attention to it and if so, what are your thoughts so far? 

 

Of course, we are keeping up on the match between Istanbul Red Wolves and the Bratislava Watchmen. Part of our preparation for the next series is to watch and analyze game tapes. We are looking for any advantage we can get. Both teams are exceptional opponents with talented players, we are using what we can to learn as much as we can about them. With the series sitting at 2-1 it is difficult to predict where this one will go. It would not surprise me if it went a full seven game series before a victor is decided. We hope that may give us an advantage going into the first game against whoever our opponent will be. 

 

Molly the Cat, how are you personally feeling about your contributions on the ice? 

 

I will admit I was a little disappointed in my performance in the regular season, I do not feel like I hit my stride and I fell just short of my points target but so far in the playoffs I feel like things have come together. So far 4 points in 3 games with a game winner in our first game. Sitting only 1 point out of being tied for first on the team for points. I will admit that getting some ice time with Christopher Young helps, the hand eye co-ordination and shot that he possesses is exceptional. The hat trick the other game as the game winner was tremendous.  

 

Molly the Cat, is there anyone you would like to take the time to thank before we end the interview today? 

 

Every year there are always so many people who assist in making a league like the VHLE happen. It takes hard work and dedication by many to ensure it goes off without problems. First, I would like to thank our General Manager and Assistant General Manager for the work they do every night ensuring that we know our lines, in keeping communication open and in helping with our training. Next, I want to take a moment and thank those involved in the league itself, the commissioner, and the broadcasters (Simmers), without them the league would not run as smoothly as it does.
