Today I will continue my review of North American Conference teams.  Last week I covered New York, Chicago, Seattle, DC, and Vancouver.  I will now cover LA, Calgary, and Toronto for my much needed 6 TPE.

LOS ANGELES STARS:

Ok, my wife is from Los Angeles and I am not a huge fan of the City.  Traffic is miserable, its hot as hell, and its crowded.  But, the people of LA County can now get out of the heat and see a pretty well put together hockey club.

The Stars made a few moves this off season and added 880 TPE Center, SIrdvaldis Miglaskems.  SM (don’t want to keep typing this name) comes with playoff experience and can pass with the best of them.  Look for him to make players better and put up some decent numbers.

In addition to him they got some rising talent in DB III, James Gloves Dropper, Deagun Rust, Bob VLAD, and Jason Argos who was also acquired in a trade.

On defense, they have sophomore stud, Callum Murray also TPE earners in Scoish Velociraptor, Brian Kowalski, and Cameron Elsby.

In net, another stud coming off his rookie season who earns massive TPE and should have some more wins with a more experienced team in front of him.

CALGARY WRANGLERS

The Wranglers have put together a club that will compete in the NA conference.  Up front they have studs, Landon Wolanin, Daniel Janser, Luc Tessier, and Saku Kotkakoivu.  They have grit and offensive talent that will make defensemen league wide not want to play against them night in and night out.

Prowling the blue line, they are led by Erlantz Jokinen and AirRig GoodBrandSun.  Both can bring pain and points in numbers.

In net, they have two great options in Ben Dahl and Red Gaming as backup.  Dahl has shown he can win and stop pucks.  I look for Calgary to be a tough team to get through this season.

TORONTO LEGION

Arguably the best team name in the NA conference.  And like the name they are a force in goal.  Oskar Lindbergh has the type of talent that can win close games.  In just 4 seasons with the Legion he has never had a losing season and has 17 shutouts.  There is no question as to why he was drafted 4th Overall in S80.

Clearing the crease in front of Oskar are S83 7th overall pick, Ryuji Sakamoto.  Sakamoto is young but plays a hard game and isn’t afraid to mix it up.  With 158 PIMS and 159 hits I look for Sakamoto to double his offensive stats this year as the quarterback on D.  Paired with Cadmael Ixazaluoh and two VHLE veterans Sting Chameleon and Harry Hagel the defense is shaping up.

On the scoring front, the team looks posed to get some newcomers to the club.  Led by gritty center Matty Fire and goal hounds, Kyle Peace and Armani Calamari they will have to lead the way for some rookies making their foray into the VHL.

They will be a tough team to beat this year but they also have some nice prospects coming up so it won’t be long before they contend again.

Best of luck NA
