Fred Hampton released this statement through his agency:

 

"The grind is officially here and I'm simply doing the best I can given my limitations.  Again, I know I'm not a star nor will I ever be.  But I can definitely be serviceable and I can help a team and that's what I've been trying to do this year.  So far I'm looking at 16 goals and 19 assists for a total of 35 points in my 72 games played.  If that's what coach wants me to do, I'll do it.  Ultimately I'd like to get my plus/minus back up in the positive range -- so ultimately that's my goal over the remaining games in this season.  All in all I'm going to push forward, keep working hard and help get this team in a better situation.  I appreciate the coaches for giving me an opportunity on this journey.  Onward and upward we go."
