Uncommon 90
Jack Jeckler | LD/RD | 6' 6" | 250 lbs | Age: 18 | Shoots: Left Born in New York, New York to Joe and Jackie Jeckler, the middle child of three brothers. Joe owned a paper products company and was also a semi-professional ice hockey player. All three Jeckler brothers played hockey as children; older brother Jim would later go on to be a paper salesman, while James, the youngest, is still studying at John F. Kennedy High School. Jack is an avid outdoorsman, and spent his summers away from hockey on the Hudson River. He also enjoys deer, duck, and turkey hunting in his spare time, and is a big fan of ice fishing during the Winter. Jeckler has also been known to play VHL 23' during his downtime and was quoted as saying "I'm alright, it's more about the good times and teamwork for me." His favorite color is purple and he's always been a fan of his hometown team the New York Americans. Prior to the VHLM draft Jeckler worked for Pure Hockey as a sales associate. He's also donated much of his time to various homeless shelters and soup kitchens around the city. In fact, Jeckler has already made it clear that he intends on starting his own local charity addressing the basic needs of the less fortunate members of the community. On the ice Jeckler is known for his dominate physical performances at both ends of the hockey rink. The young American prospect possesses several key strengths going into this years VHLM draft. First, his ability to control the blue line, his strength in the corners, and standing at 6' 6" and weighing in at an even 250 lbs there aren't many boys out there with bigger bodies. Jeckler is the ideal size for a physically capable shutdown defenseman. However, he's not only a physical player but also a surprisingly graceful skater for having such a large frame. Jeckler is both a consistent and proficient player on both sides of the battle. Always watching for the open man and covering down on any holes in the defense he shows a high hockey IQ. Always out on the ice throwing his weight around and it really shows when he connects with one of his signature bone crushing checks. Shot blocking is another part of his arsenal and he's not afraid to take a knee and a puck to keep the goal out of our net. A true team player and Jeckler is eager to demonstrate it.
