Game 1 Recap: Halifax 21st vs. Ottawa Lynx

It was a wonderful evening as the VHLM kicks off it's 86th season! Two teams north of the border squared off and delighted fans with a very solid game to start the season. Halifax took home the victory on top of a 3-1 score on Monday night, even though Ottawa carried the shot total 35-25. But you know what they say, it's not the number of shots but the quality as Halifax's playmaking ability made its presence known.

Shout out to David King for getting the season scoring underway at 6:20 of the first period. Ayomide Ayodele led the night with 3 points!  Igor Vezina had a spectacular night with 34 saves on 35 shots as well. Hats off to a great season opener!

Game 2 Recap: Can Philly Repeat? Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas (11/14/2022)

The answer to the question is a firm maybe! Philly gets out of the gate with a victory against Las Vegas. The Aces put the pressure on early outshooting the Reapers 18-8 in the first period, even though LeBen Aky opened the scoring at 9:55 of the first period. Aces goaltender Benjamin Taylor had a rocky start to the season allowing 5 goals on 22 shots. The whole league is sure he will turn it around next game! Hayden Bromley led the way for Vegas with 1G and 1A on the night.

On the Reapers side there are a few stat lines that jumped out at the crowd. Kai Bandz starts off the season with a hat trick! Elias Lampi was right next to him on the scoresheet with 1G and 2A for 3 points of his own on the evening. Luke Glendenning was stellar in the face-off circles with a 28 wins out of 37 draws taken.
