San Diego Marlins: What Happened?

The San Diego Marlins recently have not been up to par with their winning streaks they have and in the past weeks as they have gone so far 2-2 in their last 4 games. So some things might've happened with the whole turkey belly thing but that is really just bull and they’re just trying to find a way to make excuses. However there are two things that have seemed the best reasonings of this.

No. 1: Their New Signings

Of all my reasons, this might be the best one so far. What I mean by signings is by their moves they have made like trading away their others for in return something else, but also even the FA signings too. One of these signings was Stefan Norris. Stefan Norris is the back up for Justin Lion and is playing poor in his first 2 games. In those he has a .863 SV% and a 3.53 GAA which is very poor stats in 2 games. But yet again he is new to the organization and has plenty of time to grow.

No. 2: The People They Let Go

When I talk about how they let go some people I mean that they let go of some really good players which was sad but they are gonna have to move on from. One player from this list, Keita Kourou, was an old Marlins LW that got traded to Ottawa. However with Ottawa, he has already shown he has been really good with a goal and an assist in 2 games. Then we also got Kenny Esta Ramiran, he was an old center from the Marlins and he was also packaged with Keita Kourou to the Lynx. Although he is not as good as Keita with no goals so far in 4 games, he has been really good on the defense, blocking 3 shots in those four games. These two were really good forwards and for what the Marlins got in Don Aven. So far, the Lynx got the better of it though.

In conclusion, these reasons didn’t really tank them as they were already 1st in the league by a freaking landslide. However, This hasn’t been seen before in the entire season ever as usually they would go on 7-8 game winning streaks and only lose from only 2 games. So this is just an opinion thing for me on what I think the Marlins have done to become this way, but if it keeps going this way, we may not see a dominant Marlins team that we have seen from the first 22 games before these trades and signings. However it may work out for the better of rhythm in the near future but for now, hopefully they can get back on their pace they had. But when all is said and done, if they still end this way they won’t be out of the playoff spot at all and I am sure of it.
