Thanks @badcolethetitan I'm stealing your idea kinda lol.

I only remember being a first gen in bits and pieces, but I am so happy to not be one anymore. Being a first gen is cool and all, random people you've never met on the forum before will raid your dms trying to get you on their team, you meet weird and very lonely people like Dil on the discord gen chat, and you get to be stupid as an adult asking other adults how things works. I am glad to not be in that stage of my VHL career anymore and can actually hold my own weight so that my GMs can trust having me on their team, trusting my loyalty. Here is my first gen experience though:

Starting out on a late night in May 2021 I think. Watching youtube videos bored in covid, and I found an ad for this forum. I joined up and was too scared to post anything for TPE so I slammed the welfare button instantly. Then dlamb hit me up in the player creation thread, told me to grow up and then I went to play for Ottawa. I spent a full season under Dlamb before declaring for the VHL draft. I was buzzing around discord all season meeting lots of people and learning lots of things about the VHL. This boosted my draft stock and Las Angeles took me 5th overall as the highest first gen taken that draft. It was cool but I flipped rory the bird and went to play in Mississauga for a development season. That went great and of course my player was amazing. So after that I went to plat for LA. I wasn't good for three seasons and in those three seasons we didn't win anything, players retired and left, and I was the only one left that was half decent. SO I WENT TO SEATTLE. And we won the cup that season, so basically I was the reason we won the cup let's goooo. Played another couple seasons with my player in Seattle and retired early because my player didn't win any awards besides the cup and he was officially mid.

So that's my player's experience, here is more of my experience as a member. It was good, always felt welcomed and the great first impressions are what keep me here today. I started getting jobs in GMing and finally got the GM spot in Vegas. Then I got TPE banned and booted off the team. I wanted to leave the league because I worked so hard just to have everything taken away. Butttttt I kept going and a couple months later I got hired to Houston. I've loved being a GM for Houston even if we haven't won anything past the first round yet. Also if anyone's actually reading this I am resigning at the end of the season. I have a lot of great football opportunities coming up and I want to go pro, so no distractions with GMing needed. So anyways it has been great and to be able to get rehired as a first gen makes me believe I do put a good impression on the league. But god damn was being a first gen a bit of a roller coaster.

Overall first gen experience rating: 6/10
