vincentlg2007 498
Player name: Vincent Laroche-Gagnier Player position: Left Wing Height: 6 feet Weight: 201 lb Age: 17 VHLM Team: Nationality: Vincent Laroche-Gagnier has an interesting potential for sure. He made his VHLM debut at the end of S84 for the San Diego Marlins. He ended the season with 9 pts for 4 goals and 5 assists in 13 games. He also had 41 shots, 10 penalty minutes, 17 hits and 1 power play goal. He was described by GM Jacob Carson as "Vincent is a pure offensive winger. Lots of investment on one end of the ice, not much on the other end. Take this into consideration when placing Vincent in your lineup and you can see a great deal of success, otherwise there are a lot of risks. If Laroche-Gagnier can invest a bit into the defensive game, this could be a real gem of a player down the stretch. Excited to see what becomes of this player who has the assets to be a star, but needs to grow into the gritty VHL game." The Marlins general manger also compared Vincent to Dominik Kubalik. Then, it was time for the S84 Junior Showcase tournament. He first got drafted at rank 32 by Jacob Carson's Brigade. Following a twist of events, the JST announced an expansion draft with the arrival of the Delhi Pickles ran by the Red Panda gm Lemorse. Brigade's protection list didn't include Vincent and he was one of the Pickles 3 pick from the team. With Delhi, he ended the preliminary round with 31 points in 30 games. This included 9 goals and 22 assists, +6, 6 penalty minutes, 51 hits, 118 shots, 21 shots blocked, 2 power play goals, 7 power play points. In the playoff : 8 points in 7 games along with 2 goals, 6 assists, +3, 2 penalty minutes, 15 hits, 34 shots, 6 shots blocked and 2 power play points. The pickles went down in 7 games to the Warriors in the quarter-finals. Ending S84, it was time for Pro-AM. Vincent got in as a free-agent and joined the Arctic Ground Squirrels. The statistics of this tournament are sadly not found. S85 started with the VHLM Draft where he got drafted back to the Marlins at pick 22. This season was a breakout for Vincent Laroche-Gagnier has he recorded 94 pts in 72 games along with 43 goals and 51 assists, a +17, 342 shots, 34 penalty minutes, 126 hits, 44 shots blocked, 3 game winning goals and 9 power play goals. This season saw a boost in defensive work for Vincent as he became reliable in his own end. The 94 points ans 43 goals allowed him to make the top 10 in the league for goals and for points. Vincent also received the status of Assistant Captain a status that he will keep all the way until he left San Diego. The marlins made the playoff but they sadly lost in 6 games to Vegas in the first round. Laroche-Gagnier recorded 1 goal, 1 assist for 2 pts in 6 games along with -4, 22 shots, 4 penalty minutes, 7 hits and 8 shots blocked. The highlight of this series was the game where he recorded an overtime winner to keep the series alive for San Diego. S85 Junior Showcase tournament: VLG got drafted 26th by Team Clue. His preliminary round stat line was 29pts in 36 games along with 16 goals, 13 assists, -9, 26 penalty minutes, 46 hits, 95 shots, 15 shots blocked, 6 power play goal and 14 power play points. Team Clue played 6 games before losing in Semi-finals to the Brigade. Vincent's playoff statline included: 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, 2 penalty minutes 9 hits, 12 shots, 3 shots blocked, 1 power play goal and 2 power play points. Ending off the S85 we have the Pro-Am tournament. Vincent was drafted at pick 22 by the Oakville Ongoles before getting traded to the Toon Squad for pick 29. His statline included 2 goals in 30 games for 2 points. -2, 2 penalty minutes, 10 hit and 10 shots. Toon Squad ended up 3rd after losing to the Red Pandas and winning to Team 1. At the S86 draft, he first got drafted by the Vasteras Iron Eagles 20th overall but has never spoke with the GM of the team. In the VHL draft he went to Calgary at pick 15. Now it was time for his final VHLM season and he knew that. A pretty average start(1/4) was followed with a poor 2nd quarter but very good second half helped the statline. San Diego ended 1st in the league receiving the Prime minister cup. His statline in 72 games was 34 goals, 42 assists, 76 points, +34, 238 shots, 44 penalty minutes, 95 hits, 11 shots blocked, 6 game winning goal and 13 power play goal. This season was inferior to S85 in terms of production but this is explained by the fact that he was on a more competitive roster so he had a smaller role and less playing time. In the playoff, San diego started by sweeping the Mississauga Hounds in 4. Sadly VLG did not record a single point in this series but he put up some defensive work. In the second round, the Marlins came back from a 3-1 deficit to the Mexico city kings before winning in 7. The left winger was really productive in this round. In the final the San Diego marlins won agains't the Ottawa Lynx in 5 games. Vincent actually scored the Founder's cup winning goal with a goal with 43 seconds left. His S86 playoff statline includes : 16 games, 7 goals, 7 assists, 14 points, +6, 48 shots, 12 penalty minutes, 26 hits, 5 shots blocked, 1 game winning goal, 1 powerplay goal and 1 short handed goal. GM Jacob Carson described Vincent as " Offensive phenom. Hard nose to the net, always trying to score the next goal. Brought competitiveness and energy to the team at all times. A continual threat on the Power Play." He is ending his Marlin history with 179 pts which means he is 7th all time scoring for the marlins and with 81 goals which makes him 4th all-time for goals in San Diego's history. He is currently featured in the World Juniors as a member of team Asia In conclusion, Vincent is a Goal-scoring Left winger with a growing defensive games that will bring his portion of hits and a big piece in the locker room. His best attributes are: Goal scoring, passing, performing under pressure, size ( only 6 feet). His negative point would be 1st round production and Shoutout. Vincent is a guy you want on your power play and on your offensive lines.
