AJW 2,190
With the 4th overall pick in the S87 VHL Entry Draft, the Seattle Bears select, Randy Bobandy of the Oslo Storm. It should be every player's goal to one day make it to the VHL, and to be drafted in the top 5 should be every player's dream. Randy Bobandy's dream came true tonight and he will be taking his talents to the Seattle Bears. After a monster VHLE playoff and WJC performance, Bobandy was expecting to be drafted high and he is honored to go to Seattle. Randy Bobandy is excited to lace up his skates for a VHL team, and is super excited to start his rookie season. Bobandy was the leader in points in the WJC tournament and the VHLE playoffs. It seems like the kid has finally developed into a star hockey player. Bobandy is projected to play center on the second line for Seattle, and with lots of split time he should have a good chance at leading all rookies in points. Bobandy focuses on his defensive play of the game, but having good defence will result to good offence. Bobandy plans to keep training his defensive play to be one of, if not the best two way center in the league one day. Bobandy also has a playmaker's eye. In today's STHS games, most forwards focus on their scoring abilities to get as many goals as possible, Bobandy wants to focus on getting the puck to those types of players to rack up the assists. He knows that the competition level will be the most extreme he has ever experienced, playing with pros for the first time will be a test. But Bobandy also knows how talented and hard working he is and he wants to compete to the best of his ability this upcoming season. Bobandy has been chatting with Seattle Bears S83 Continental Cup Champion AJ Williams recently. Williams has taken the role of Bobandy's mentor and wants to train the kid to be able to accomplish the same things he did while in Seattle. Williams rents out his basement to Bobandy so that he always knows what he's up to and makes sure the kid is focused on his training. Bobandy appreciates all the help and is determined to work his hardest under Williams' arm. Bobandy will take to the ice in a couple weeks for his first VHL game ever. Nerves are high but Bobandy has his eyes on the prize.
