ThePerfectNut 563
After a couple of tanking and trading seasons, Riga Reign looks amazing for the future. The general manager hedgehog337 and the assistant kelvi has done a good job re-building this team since the departure of two-time Alexander Beketov Trophy, Battrre Sandstrom.A lot of people are not expecting much from Riga Reign, but Daniel Weaver believes that this could be an underdog season for Riga. Why? Riga Reign is paying a lot of money for the goalies. They have two caliber starting goalies on the same team. The backup, Ed Nu, posted a 0.922% save percentage while being on a bad team last season. Riga is expecting him to steal a lot of games whenever Henry Tucker Jr needs to rest. The franchise goalie, Henry Tucker Jr is expecting to become a top goalie in the VHL in the upcoming seasons, he's still very young and he posted a 0.921 save percentage on the worst team in the league last season. They were both just outside of the top 10 goalies last season and now we are hoping that they can steal as many games as possible for the team. Having two reliable goalies every night is very reassuring for us as well. The defense score has improved incredibly this season. Daniel Weaver talked to the management about trying to get the top defensemen in free agency, Travish DeGroot. Surprisingly, he decided to take his talent to Riga for a season. Daniel Weaver is excited to play alongside such gifted offensive defensemen this season and is hoping they can make some sick plays. Riga also acquired the talents of Logan Abelar and Calix Pearce who are great depth defensemen that can both hit a lot and shot block a lot. The fan-favorite James Marino is also back, the team is expecting his stats to take a hit since he won't need to do everything on the ice, but he's still the most reliable man on the team. Finally, with the 2nd overall pick, Riga Reign had the chance to select Skor McFleury. He'll be playing in the VHL this season and he'll probably hit a lot of bumps this season. He will most likely have a rough two seasons like Phil Strasmore in Calgary, but he will be at his peak once he gains all the experience he needs during those two seasons of learning behind Travish DeGroot. Now the forward core. They have a very exciting first line that's been hoping to play since last season. The trio Daniel Weaver- The Frenchman - Sadie St-Louis will finally play together. It will be expected that they will have a slow start this season since Sadie St-Louis is a rookie playing first-line minutes, but once things start to gel. It will be a very fun offensive line to watch every night for Riga. It feels like a Caufield - Suzuki - Dach line in NHL terms. The only negative about this team is the second line. A lot of teams will have a field day on our second-line inexperience on defence, but regardless Daniel Clarke is an impressive C that can do it all while Jon Webber Jr can have all the opportunities that he can get on that second line. Expect him to score a lot of goals if he figures things out. Can't forget James glove dropper, a favorite when it comes to physically and hits! They also have Braeden Panarella and Stefan Norris as exciting prospects in the VHLM or VHLE. Hopefully they can help us in the VHL in the upcoming seasons.
