Round one of the VHLM playoffs are well underway with only one series still yet to be decided. In that final series, the San Diego Marlins and the Miami Marauders are tied at three games each in their best of seven series. It's west coast versus east coast in this tight series where the upstart Marlins are pushing the heavily favoured Marauders to the brink of elimination.

In an already completed series, the Ottawa Lynx defeated the Halifax 21st in five games. Ottawa was by far the team most expected to win this series but Halifax put up a good fight and didn't have any real blowout games against them.

The Mexico City Kings eliminated the Las Vegas Aces in five games in probably the biggest mismatch in the first round. Mexico City finished a whole 47 points ahead of Las Vegas in the regular season.

In the final series to look at, the Houston Bulls eliminated the Mississauga Hounds in yet another five game series in this round. Both teams finished with 96 points on the season but it was Houston who controlled the series from game one with a 9-1 pounding of the Hounds.

One game to go as San Diego looks to upset Miami and then we move into the next round!
